Since when is telling people to kill themselves not an instant ban. I remember when i was a mod, if somebody told someone else to kill themselves and it wasn't a joke (not that it's a good thing to even joke about) it was an instant ban. Pretty sure Lucid made that clear to us when we were mods. Now when i reported somebody for it, they just get a warning? When did this change?
If it did change, it needs to be changed back to an instant ban.

None the less, I agree whole heartedly that if you can't handle your mental illnesses in a safe way through the internet then you should stay away from it. Yes, it'd be nice if everyone online was good and wholesome, but it's not ever going to happen so although it's not the mentally ill person's fault, they need to realize that they don't belong in these environments, they're dangerous for them.
I don't think it's right to talk about how your overcoming of suicidal tendencies is something that should be generalized. Some people's suicidal thoughts stem from much deeper places. Maybe for you it was easy to "hope for better" but don't generalize that because that's not gonna help the suicide narrative be one that tries to help the whole population.
There's a lot of bad assumptions made in this post I hope you at least realize that. I don't want to argue but calling suicidal people mostly weak, privileged idiots is kinda detrimental to the whole discussion of suicide prevention.
I know they don't. I even pointed it out myself earlier in this thread.
but name one example of someone who's life drastically improved because they cried on internet forums for people to stop telling them to "stop tellin me 2 kil mys3lf guise!!11! u r really hurtin!!! my !!! feelinz!!!11! :'( :'( " instead of actually going out irl and doing something to improve the condition of their life.
DO IT U WONT
With that being said, everyone on this site has a huge problem. Imagine being a completely stable person and still playing text-based computer mafia haha........
we are all different and if someone has to resort to telling someone to kill themselves over a mafia game then they have a huge problem and should reflect on it
I know I’m not; I’m not the one constantly attempting to make my mod status relevant to this discussion, you are. It’s cute how you try to pretend that your intentions were different when you get called out for your inability to read or form valid arguments. You are not a Flygon, you are a <70 iq trapinch. Stay quiet in the mud where u belong, peasant.
Part of the reason why this specific post hits so close to home for me is because I didn't have the greatest upbringing and I've probably been depressed more years of my life than not. What devante said was pretty relatable bc I thought about cutting/killing myself too a few times but was just too much of a sissy to do it. However, what kept me going was the thought that things would get better one day (and they really have) and the realization that things were bad for me, but much worse for many others around the world. This is really something I wish more people would do. Yeah, I might not have the most empathy for people crying wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh over internet strangers telling them to kill themselves on a text-based game, but I think hearing much worse than that regularly at home for most of your childhood conditions you to not be sensitive about things like that? Not tryna fish for sympathy, just wanted to put things into perspective for y'all virtuous keyboard warriors of justice out there. At the end of the day, no one gives more of a fk about your own well-being other than yourself (apart from your family if you're lucky). It's not healthy or realistic to expect others to adapt to your needs and to surround yourself in a lil 'positivity bubble' because you can't handle the real world. If you want others to respect you, work hard & be a respectable person; go out into the real world and find real people that can provide the positivity you need. Forcing internet strangers to 'care about you' won't solve the problems in your life.
So I wanted to post this reply yday but the darned site keeps going down, w/e I'll post it now lulz
"I have a negative stance on suicide" = quite a bit of detail about dislike for suicidal people lol?? think u gotta slow down on the coke snorting judging from how much obvious damage its caused to ur poor brain
Suicide is for the most part, committed by weak, privileged idiots. People are constantly stuck in this "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality when there are billions of people around the world living in unimaginably horrific circumstances who are somehow still able to get through it all? 24/7 electricity, running water, sanitation, and safety are such examples of basic privileges taken for granted that billions of people lack access to. Hundreds of thousands of people in North America alone are sexually abused, trafficked, or food-insecure. Look @ places like Liberia, then look @ your own life situation and for most people, you'll realize that things aren't so bad.
Again proving that you literally do not know how to read lol. I said I would not care or have empathy for someone who would kill themselves over a simple "kys" on the internet. Just pm me the next time you need a very basic sentence broken down for you because I understand that you are indeed very slow now.
Moving on, if you have a problem with me or how I moderate reports, you have the appeal system and an admin (Nathan) to complain to if you're feeling like I'm not doing my job properly. Much more effective, but continue crying on the forums if you feel like you're actually accomplishing anything from it.
i don't know who you are or why you act like i'm out to demonize you. you are sincerely not that relevant to the discussion. like you're clearly an egomaniac if you think replying to posts about you is equivalent to "crying on the forums about your modding".
Shrek I like that you’re strong on your stance and not sitting in the back whilst they’re wrong
I’d say if u want your opinion to really resonate u gotta omit the insults; you cannot be demodded for publicslly opposing the other mods, however if u get demodded as a result of the insults in the posts they’ll feel a moral victory, yafeel?
I don’t think he is an apathetic person, he just realizes that sayin “kys” on a game is not that serious.
Thank you for actually having a head on your shoulders, this is reggiebear btw I changed my name.
depression and being suicidal is literally not just struggling
god you're such a dumb cnt, you couldn't even take your own posts seriously so you decided to make them on an alt lol
everyone on this topic who's actually joking about suicide are some of the most childish pieces of i ever seen on this site. There are even mods who are joking about it. You guys are pathetic as and it shows how sorry the characters of some individuals we have running this site.
You don't have to act like a passive aggressive lil b by not just directly calling me out & no one joked about suicide ydb
I'm not denying my hypocrisy, I'm calling you a liar
bad breath is another thing most people detest but whatever buddy u do u idc if u wanna let bovine-sourced garden fertilizer continue to run out of ur mouth
because you're someone who's capable of moderating harassment reports and you're busting out "it's a good thing if you kill yourself" logic on the subject of harassment. it's really silly.
Again proving that you literally do not know how to read lol. I said I would not care or have empathy for someone who would kill themselves over a simple "kys" on the internet. imagine being a mod and running around calling people autists.
Actually, according to the person who I said this to, this isn't problematic 'because it's an actual medical diagnosis'
imagine having this little empathy
If your sad definition of having empathy is violently virtuesignalling & pretending to give a fk about non-existent cyber crybabies on the internetz instead of actually doing something irl to make a difference about the issues I am passionate about, then yes, I do not have any.
