So there's been a lot of shooting recently and the president isnt doing about it.

Australia had its worst mass shooting in 1996 on the 28th of April. 12 days later australia announced a bipartisan deal on sweeping gun control measures. The government brought back and destroyed over a million guns. We (australia) haven't had a mass shooting since.

Why is Trump not doing anything. Children are dying. People aren't living their full lives. If comforting those who have been through trauma and lost loved ones is all they can do b*llfucking sh*t. If saying it will be okay to those victims then saying that to gun owners should be fine too.

Sorry im just annoyed with how this has all been going down.

Honestly, this is the f*cking government, if they wanted to take us out they'd do it. We don't need full on assault rifles and such, but I don't see a problem in having a handgun or two for self defense for house breaking and such.

4. Last point is the news glorifying this. I don't know if there is research stating that if it isn't publicized it'd decrease, however I also think that mainstream media is partly at fault for this. I understand that the "news" is just a show but it's hard to argue that they aren't a bigger influence if any.

3. Mental health issues are a huge problem throughout the world yet there's such a huge negative stigma behind it. If you go out to get help and make yourself better people look at you like you're crazy, instead of encouraging you to get better they tell you to just control it. The worst part is how normal this is and that everyone goes through it yet the second it's brought up everyone becomes a hypocrite.

its not like they r shoving mentally ill people in hospicies and like mental healthcare is expensive as f*ck, and that the american state its not doing anything to help those marginalized people, its a "cultural problem"

I'll read the posts later and do a follow up if questioned, but you can't just force another culture to change how it runs(I know, the irony...). There are several flaws in both sides and all arguments.

(Speaking fmpov as someone whose lived in Vegas and views themselves as in the middle as possible.)

1. Do we need guns to protect us from the government?
Honestly, this is the f*cking government, if they wanted to take us out they'd do it. We don't need full on assault rifles and such, but I don't see a problem in having a handgun or two for self defense for house breaking and such.

2. There are other issues besides gun control, everyone is quick to blame everything besides the idiot acting out. The shooter played a lot of games so the games obviously influenced him, they had all these guns, clearly the gun influenced him, he listened to all this hate music, music influenced him. Somehow when it comes to mass shootings EVERYTHING but the shooter is at fault, yet if someone murders 1 person it's instantly the murderers fault?

I think some drugs should be legalized, but that's a discussion for another time.

I do agree that nobody needs an assault rifle. Being allowed to own one as long as it's semi-automatic is just stupid. They can be removed as a whole, sorry to all of the gun enthusiasts.

As for handguns (and MAYBE hunting rifles,) we can't do anything about that. There are a lot of people out there who live in isolated/rural areas without a cop precinct 10 minutes away. You're screwed if some dudes run up on you
