So there's been a lot of shooting recently and the president isnt doing about it.

Australia had its worst mass shooting in 1996 on the 28th of April. 12 days later australia announced a bipartisan deal on sweeping gun control measures. The government brought back and destroyed over a million guns. We (australia) haven't had a mass shooting since.

Why is Trump not doing anything. Children are dying. People aren't living their full lives. If comforting those who have been through trauma and lost loved ones is all they can do b*llfucking sh*t. If saying it will be okay to those victims then saying that to gun owners should be fine too.

Sorry im just annoyed with how this has all been going down.

Should gun control be changed?

I don't hate muslims, I hate verses in the Qu'ran which encourage people to wage the holy Jihad against non-believers like this verse.

Sura 9:5 "When the sacred months are over slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. If they repent and take to prayer and render the alms levy, allow them to go their way. God is forgiving and merciful."

Right, because protecting yourself when people are lynching you = terrorism.
That’s ironically why you guys are brainwashed to not understand why ISIS was created & hate muslims .
They became trusted in their community because they told the community they’d protect them from the US troops (rightfully so) the only issue with ISIS is that they harm their own.

@sometime

I won’t derail this topic further, black people are obviously oppressed but nowhere near as badly as before .
That doesn’t mean I’m gonna sit here and hate every white person walking . If s black person works hard they’ll make it successful, as our generation is showing. Yes they’re still targeted& punished disproportionally .

Fyi I didn’t read that post of yours but I’m sure I touched on. Few things u said

As y’all can see I’m extremely self absorbed , I never read anyone’s long posts while I ensure that 9/10 of my posts are paragraphs. Maybe that’s why I’m single lol

I supported what Malcom x did for the black community whilst they were actually oppressed in the United States, I’ve listened to at least 60% of his recorded speeches and read a few of his books.

I respect him more than mlk, but they had two different approaches to the issue I just think Malcom’s message was more powerful.

In any event, my support for X doesn’t cloud my vision. I see things objectively , or to my level of objectivity of course, so yes I Don’t think u can blame the FBI for one bad seed slipping through the cracks unless you go through all their case files and credit them for every plot they have foiled.
U can accuse them of the Assination of X, and spreading the negative propaganda against MLK like I’m sure they did.. but

I’m jus sayin keep the same energy .

look devante, it's their job to follow up on credible tips. they ignored 3. if we do not hold them accountable, when they are the federal bureau of INVESTIGATION, then why the fk do they exist, other than to police us at their own privilege? if they do not answer the call when we ask them to, what purpose do they serve to us? and to whom do they then answer?

that last one is a question you should be asking, especially after the FBI has let so many of these shootings happen, so many key players in civil rights die, and even pursued at one point the death of MLK Jr. and so many other figures.

again, it is -their job-. if i failed at my job repeatedly, would you trust me? no, you wouldn't. you would seek other help.

stop defending the people who are HIRED to defend us. their duty is to serve; they asked to have the blame laid upon them. they knew the role they stepped into when they asked for the job. they knew they had to put up or shut up. and they have been quiet for FAR too long.

3, protocol for school shootings are fkn stupid. if you start hearing shots, break the nearest window and flee. you are moronic if you think following the pack in this scenario is a smart move - gtfo asap and encourage others to follow. you do NOT sit still in an active shooting - you move as soon as you hear shots, because those shots mask your movement. it is THE critical moment to escape with your life. do NOT rely on others to protect you in an emergency.

i saw a brief news snippet of a bunch of kids crouching down in a classroom, is that really the protocol in a school shooting situation?

yes. they are supposed to crouch and conceal, make as little movement as possible, so as to dissuade a frenetic and "in-the-moment" shooter.

what this completely discounts is a meticulous agent who is potentially targeting specific individuals. and you have NO clue which is which. you need to make an exit and make it fast, because you never know if the shooter is specifically targeting your class.

fk the protocol, save yourself (and hopefully others in the process)

Okay let me make myself clear for those who don't understand.

I am FOR the 2nd Amendment. BUT, there needs to be restrictions, or more children and adults will die.

I mean it’s pretty obvious what the first step needs to be ....

Making idiots understand that they can’t fight the government with their guns

2 stopping the manufacture of new weapons
3 banning all military grade assault rifles and only allowing handguns and your little hunting rifles / shotguns

U aren’t ever going to stop school shootings, u give the other side an easy rebuttals when you make a blanket statement “stop children from dying”

Again, go back to my original post where it was said to provide "possible" fixes.

Also, to debate your points one by one;

1. You CAN fight the government with guns as it has been done many times in the past, in many other countries (google Syria rebellion). Is it really feasible against the US military? probably not. But who knows how the military would shake out if it ever came to that.

2. You will NEVER get the world to stop manufacturing new weapons. I won't debate the merits of this as it's a waste of my time, it won't happen. Point, blank, period.

3. What do you consider a "military grade" assault rifle? You realize AR doesn't stand for Assault Rifle, correct? You also realize the AR isn't an automatic gun and you can't readily buy automatic guns legally in the vast majority of the United States, correct?

I personally don't think citizens have any use for the AR or other guns like it because while they CAN be used for hunting, there are much better guns for that so it doesn't really make sense. They are toys to most people to go around shooting . I own guns myself but I find no need for these kinds of guns personally.

as an aside, i also want to bring up

4, the students of this school/area are now rallying to protest gun laws. this is cool and i like seeing that happen. im glad the school and others are supporting them, too.

what i think is despicable, however, is that the media instantly harps on their example, lauds them as public celebrities, and blasts them across national TV as exemplars of justice and heroism. come the fk on. if they are genuine in their cause, then let them speak for themselves. don't lecture them on what to say - the fact that one kid was coached into his statements by media hounds is absolutely despicable. it goes to show just how fkn fake CNN and the MSM have become. instead of letting the kids simply speak and be true to their own words, they forcefeed them the policy statements for public digestion. f__k you, CNN. you scumbags won't even follow this story for more than a week and then you claim WE are desensitized? no, CNN, your newscasters and analysts are the desensitized filth that choose to hop on the bandwagon of every tragedy, day to day, as you exploit it for viewership and news content.

ask yourselves why the Vegas shooting conversation disappeared out of the limelight: was it just the politicians doing nothing, or is the media culpable for literally broadcasting nothing after the initial week of conversation? you're telling me not a single one of their 'investigators' has the backbone to follow through for even more than a week's worth of saucy headliner coverage? get. the. fk. out. i'll take my news from any source other than TV these days.

there are several other elements to address with this specific shooting:

1, fbi had received 3 separate, distinct tips that this kid was going bonkers and a serious threat. they acted on none of them. once again, just like with pulse and numerous other shootings, the fbi had clear evidence to act upon and instead chose to let it foment.

2, mental health issues with this kid were clear. many, many visits were made to his household in regards to his mental and family state. long story short, he had a troubled background and nothing was done to address it; only coax him into being a complacent student - typical.

3, protocol for school shootings are fkn stupid. if you start hearing shots, break the nearest window and flee. you are moronic if you think following the pack in this scenario is a smart move - gtfo asap and encourage others to follow. you do NOT sit still in an active shooting - you move as soon as you hear shots, because those shots mask your movement. it is THE critical moment to escape with your life. do NOT rely on others to protect you in an emergency.

im not going to bother reiterating what others have said

needless to say if the kid had a pistol he wouldnt have been able to do so much damage

gun control is a fairly straight forward conversation: ban bump stocks for legal use, ban fully auto and semi-auto for commercial use, create a new license for firearms outside of pistols / hunting rifles, make that license accessible only to trained marksman that have received military-grade training via private and gov't certified institutions (gives the NRA a hard-on), and finally make concealed carry available everywhere.

the facts are in: if you expect people to have guns around you, you are less likely to attempt to use a gun to assert your control over others. it's a microcosm of MAD (mutually assured destruction), and the case study of Texas demonstrates the prowess of this philosophy.

so there's your gun solution: limit and specifically license certain types of firearms more extensively, as we do driving licenses, and make it so anyone with the proper license can conceal carry.

why not outright ban guns? because it encourages illegal black market distrib, which is already bad enough as it is. less illicit/underground trading --> better above ground society
