epicmafia as a website where opportunities to reach out and show support to vulnerable people aren't hidden away because certain explicitly toxic and horrible people are allowed to roam and post freely. epicmafia as a website where hiding these opportunities away is the better option because there's no control over the self-maiming, humanity-killing community that the website harbours
it is correct that there is a discrepancy in what i say here and there, especially without context, but one person choosing to distance themselves from a community in no way invalidates a criticism vs a community's inherent toxicity problem

your entire profile description completely invalidates whatever your goal is here

Only time I get involved in anything on this site is when it benefits me in some way. Usually entertainment between games. I agree with the whole being toxic as release, it's easier to distance yourself from someone when all you know of someone is a small 100x100 picture and name that is supposed to represent them.

Definitely a heartbreaking read, unfortunately i think a lot of distressed people use this site as an outlet, and being toxic is a release. That's just me speaking from experience.
I'm unsure if the community has the ability to be more engaging and helpful tho, so gg no re to that XD
don't be mistaken, i definitely don't think epicmafia is redeemable, i just wanted to put this kind of thing into perspective

i'm sincerely not trying to be edgy or anything but i'm shocked people still have faith in em's community to not be garbage about stuff like this

I would say the shunning and banishment is more people being insecure w/ their own problems. Like if you got your own stuff going on do you really want to add someone else's problems? At least that's what seems to be the stigma. "Just get over it", when in most cases that person is dealing w/ their own stuff and may be saying that as self projection.
i've been thinking about petri lately, and i'm not sure if banning her over and over again throughout the years instead of having some coordinated effort to help her has really done anything worthwhile for anyone.

are these "vulnerable people" hidden away because of the toxic nature of the community, or is it more because of a historical shunning/banishment of those people when they inevitably lash out and break a few rules that are philosophically not as important/meaningful as mental health is?
Just do what I do and view the entire site as one big mafia game. Banned users are scummy players who got lynched, self deleted accounts are those who sui and inactive/dead accounts are veggers. Everyone else is just scum waiting to be hunted.
