epicmafia as a website where opportunities to reach out and show support to vulnerable people aren't hidden away because certain explicitly toxic and horrible people are allowed to roam and post freely. epicmafia as a website where hiding these opportunities away is the better option because there's no control over the self-maiming, humanity-killing community that the website harbours
this thread is outlining a concept of an “alternate universe”, as it were, where epicmafia doesn’t harbour its current horrible community and mindset, because it decided not to tolerate such toxicness earlier on in its life.
just imagine it and realise how impossible it is and how we’ve all accepted that it can’t be done
i made a thread a while back talking about my psychological disorder when i didn't want to talk to anybody irl or anywhere else about it. if people think this is the place for them where it's good to let stuff out then they should go for it, but they should only be surprised at what they see in response if they only get back what they want from it. in other words, the chances of you getting a non-offensive or troll reply are one in a blue moon, and if you're prepared for that, then by all means fire away
this website could never have a serious discussion subforum because
1. banned users would troll it 2. the number of reports and moderation to be done in there would be through the roof 3. too many trolls
good idea and it does exist in many forums but in a dying userbase filled to the brim with trolls it will likely accomplish the opposite of its purpose

all the constructs that were invented for the sole purposes of this website, gamethrowing, mishammering, or whatever, it doesn't mean anything. i don't remember 99% of the mafia games i've played over the years. the happiness /misery you get from this website is what's really important.

i think this site is inherently toxic because it premieres a meaningless set of rules and social standards while putting things that actually matter like being happy on the back burner. but honestly, i helped contribute to that just as much if not more than anyone. all i can do is repent.

i like the idea,a dedicated sub-forum for serious talk would be nice but it prob wont work because of two main reasons: - community is too small, everyone knows each other. it's not the same as ranting about your personal issues to a bunch of strangers. - toxicity isn't punished enough, you can be an absolute pos and still get away with it.
