i'm listening to a (ctrl-v)odcast atm called Invisibilia and it's really interesting. it's about the things that affect us that we can't ty(ctrl-v)ically see or touch, like emotions, fears, categories etc. It tries to investigate the way we understand these things and go a bit more in de(ctrl-v)th. If you're looking for something to listen to i recommend!
Also i have (ctrl-v) (ctrl-v)ermanently on co(ctrl-v)y (ctrl-v)aste which is a bit tedious but seems to be working. if anyone has advice on how to fix my keyboard i'm o(ctrl-v)en!

who do you think has the right to decide whether or not another person is a failure? is it something others can decide about you? also what makes a failure pls discuss

It seems like a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you give other people the power to decide whether or not you're a failure, they'll inevitably have some flaw to point out. Sometimes this can be healthy like for self-improvement but it can also be really bad if you let other people's unrealistic expectations govern your choices, or you let their judgement really hurt your self-esteem.
I remember like a year ago I was taking a class on developmental psychology and one of the things that stuck with me is how to re-enforce positive behavior in kids (this might sound totally unrelated but I'm going somewhere with this!). Actually since Nat is a teacher she probably knows all of this already but jksdjfksdhfks. Even the "smartest" kids you find shouldn't be praised simply for being "smart". They should instead be praised for putting forth the effort needed to succeed. Relying entirely on your natural talents instead of hard-earned skills leaves you extremely ill-equipped to deal with failure or criticism later in life. And it also causes people to give up at the first sign of any sort of struggle, since they're used to relying on their strong but limited talents.

a failure is not u hehe
rly a failure is like wht tucker said, someone who does not deliver expectations. but the thing is u can fail your own expectations by not fail someone else's expectations of you and vice versa so where is that line?? hard to say but i think when it happens consistently over a stretch of time you can start to throw that term around

I guess it depends on the context. I'd define a failure as someone who consistently falls short of expectations, or frankly, never meets them. But then you get into the debate of whose expectations are right, and who can create expectations for other people to follow, and without a system or anything, that gets really convoluted and heavy.
Everyone hits rock bottom, at least once in their life. People who are failures are the ones who let that destroy them and don't get back up and fight for what they want. Just because it takes you a few days, weeks, months or even years to get back up doesn't mean you're a failure. As long as you get back up and strive for things you want, you're a winner.
nobody has the right to decide whether a person is a failure or not; especially not you. you can always fight harder, push more, and think in different ways to achieve your goals.
if we define failure as "a lack of success", only you can define what your success is. that's why optimism is a great tool to use; it helps you have a better mindset instead of making you put yourself down and tell yourself that you're a 'failure'.
