people who think that the site itself is dying don't know what they're talking about; phil is making bank from this website by sitting on his @ss. and even if he does nothing for a while (this has already happened multiple times), that fact still isn't changing; people will still visit, the site is still going to be here and he is still going to be making money.
why would he even sell? there's no point when you're making loads of money from doing nothing. even if he sold to someone and demanded a portion of all revenue, it still wouldn't be worth it because the buyer might not even grow the site's revenue that much and it would be a needless risk for phil. he doesn't give a sh*t about growing epicmafia anyway since he probably made 7 figures easy with uber; why risk losing tens of thousands of free dollars or spend a lot more time on the website for not much more?
em is dying cause y'all take this sh1t too seriously, the freshman is the best example, people leaves cause htey get tired of bshit. i am a newf4g in comparison to people that is here since 2010, but trust me i know this sh1t.
how abt y'all take a chill pill and stop being somehwat toxic, stop making drama on simple things and stop being childish? yes this also applies to me
Mods do not understand the basics. They try to control everything. First step to the downfall was disallowing fool training in comp. I would never play it in comp, but many would. Instead of solving the problem the mods eliminated the setup. And similar other steps like breaking the sacred rules of the competition.
The "decline of EM" has been a pervasive narrative since 2010, both in a quantitative and qualitative sense, and I've fought against it repeatedly. The end was greatly exaggerated, and the numbers in fact relatively stable for 5-6 years (maybe a bit of a peak in 2011 after a surge of growth in 2010, but nothing ridiculous). It was always a "good old days", fundamentally wrong narrative.
The past few months though have truly been abysmal. One comp game at a time in peak hours, two if you're lucky. This time, I buy it.
