what's your happiest childhood memory?
probably a sleepover when i was 12 or so. we all had a bunch of video games we took turns playing (luigi's mansion and resident evil 4 being the highlights) and a buttload of pizza. our interactions were so innocent and simple. we scared ourselves senseless with ghost stories later that night and started crying but calmed each other down because we didn't want our parents knowing what we had been reading. none of us slept that night but we were all stronger friends for it the next day and for years to follow.
i knew there was a reason i can't watch that movie anymore
someone hands you $1000 and there's nothing sketchy attached to this transaction. you've like won a prize or something. (assume that's a euro symbol ok), what do you do with it?
i'm from england so we use pounds (£) but sure what i'd do, though it's not a particularly interesting or surprising answer, i'd put it towards moving out to the states or winnie moving out here, whichever is easier for us

Senior year, I discovered MIT's OpenCourseWare where I used it to learn Physics because I decided to self-study Calculus-based Physics. (Khan Academy was Algebra-based.) The professors and difficult assignments inspired me to redesign my note-taking techniques in order to gain a greater understanding of the material.
Back in April, when I visited MIT's campus, I met crazy people. I met sophomores who were taking advanced graduate classes that average graduate students wouldn't take until maybe their third or fourth semester. I had discussions with them and realized how behind I was! They inspired me to study over the summer. So after I graduated, I decided to spend my final summer before college studying a bunch of math, including Vector Calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra.
dude all of this is so cool. like legit just made me smile so much. i wish you all the best in your pursuit of higher learning dude!!!!!
what is your favorite thing in the whole world? like what thing (could be a person, a thought, a film, a show, a reoccurrence, etc) makes you the most happy?

In freshman year, it was Youtube channels like Vsauce, SciShow, and numberphile which amazed me with intriguing concepts that I wanted to learn so much more about! These Youtube channels expanded over the years such as minutephysics and 3blue1brown. School didn't cut it for me, so I became really interested in STEM through forums and discussion boards about concepts I never quite understood. (coughcough quantum physics)
In sophomore year, I've had 2 teachers who recommended me to check out MIT. This was my first exposure to universities. I discovered collegeconfidential and read threads about the kind of people who get admitted to MIT, and those people indirectly inspired me. I took advice all over the Internet on MIT admissions.
Junior year, I discovered Khan Academy, which I periodically used for studying Physics since my AP Physics teacher gave up on teaching. I started looking through MIT's curriculum and major requirements for math, physics, and philosophy. I even played around with what classes I would take if I were even admitted. I looked at the classes like abstract algebra and topology and researched them in order to find out what they were and the applications to physics, economics, business, engineering, computer science, etc.
