In little things. Like when busy streets become silent. When morning dew coats the grass and no one is up yet. When sunsets color the sky. When a coffee or tea is just hot enough. When I have the best nights staying up late into the morning by a fire with the people I admire and love. When I find the perfect song for the way I'm feeling. When life continues and knowledge that any bad day has to have a better one eventually.
It was Expository Speaking. I gave a five minute speech on the nocebo effect and related it to My Little Pony. 2015; Dallas, Texas. I was a junior in high school and no one from my school had ever won before.
Her sense of humor and cooperativity. I'm often silent in conversation because I don't have much to say (mostly because when I do say something, people don't care... but then again, I talk about math a lot). I would be playing Zelda, and she would make funny comments on my gameplay. We can joke about something one day, and then bring it up as a reference the following day. And when I make a joke, I'm happy to see her respond positively. It's mutualistic.
You didn't ask, but one of my least favorite things about her is her *awful* memory. I would bring something up, and she wouldn't understand because she forgets so easily. Like, she would bring something up and I would be like "we had a conversation about this exact topic a few weeks / months ago." I brought this up because I would sometimes make references, but she wouldn't get them because she forgets!! D:<
I can't begin to find an answer to this question. My love of poetry started off weird, between school and reading books, to watching spoken world. But one of the first poets who I felt I could really resonate with (in style of writing) was Emily Dickinson. My favorite poem of hers is "Hope is the thing with feathers" - to me this poem is a simple feeling explained with beautiful imagery. This is what 'hope' feels likes, but it's also something you can't find the way to explain, but this poem does so perfectly.
oh man this is a really hard question because i don't really have a definitive 'happiest day' - there's a lot of candidates but none really stand out.
i know you won't let me get away w/ generalisations though so imma just give the most recent example from the middle of may. it's essentially me coming out irl even though it technically wasn't that - my best irl friend (and the only rl person i'm out to) asked me if he can start using my proper pronouns and i said yes and just a few days after i actually heard him use 'they' and nobody really seemed to mind so it made me a lot more confident in my identity and also super happy because like y'know i finally felt like myself and it was great.
