Epic Nations is a game where you control a nation and interact with nations controlled by other players. You can perform virtually any viable action by just stating it publicly here in this topic or PMing it privately to me.
Each nation can perform up to 3 actions per 24 hours, and those actions can be just about anything (attacking others, sharing resources, constructing buildings, etc). At the end of each 24 hour period I will post a summary of what occurred and reveal the results of relevant actions.
Nations can communicate with each other both in this thread and over PM, although if you do communicate over PM you must include me in all messages you send.
Overall wealth is the only thing I officially keep track of. However, individual resources are still important and will be considered when you perform certain actions.
Keep in mind you can keep your actions private if you wish by PMing me.
There are barbarian encampments scattered throughout the lands, containing primitive people with no internal government who occasionally attack nearby nations. Encampments are located in every civilization's land and can only be removed through several attacks with an army.
The Commonwealth of Merlot, while finding your lack of religious morality abhorrent, would like to propose an alliance. In exchange for access (via trade) to a portion of your iron, the Commonwealth would offer you both our peace and access to the more luxurious fruits available in our territory. Our people believe this will be a mutually beneficial exchange.
Here is a good list of many common actions you might want to perform, publicly or privately:
* Build an army * Research a technology * Build a building (library, theater, factory) * Trade resources * Move all or part of your army * Form/spread a religion * Spy * Expand farming or mines (to boost economy) * Hold a public event for nations * Attend a public event a nation is hosting * Attack players * Attack barbarians ... (I'll add more as I think of them)
Note that if you try to do something that you're not advanced enough for yet (such as trying to build a factory without researching something like steam power) I will do my best to have you take a prerequisite action instead.
This is of course not all inclusive as there are essentially infinite actions you can take.
Dougland, Kingdom of Shwartz, as we are clearly the powerhouses of the region, I suggest we establish a council whereby we keep the peace and rule over the region. With our geographical locations, abundance of resources and benevolent leaders, we believe this relationship will be mutually beneficial for all of us.
Nigeria Ruled under a harsh monarch, Nigeria is home to plentiful wheat and gold and therefore has a solid economy. Its northern region is home to some of the hottest temperatures in the world.
AUTISM With no trees in sight, this nation is home to great plains of wheat and vegetables. They rely heavily on imports of wood from neighboring nations.
Republic of Yachi A rebellious nation, Yachi holds itself together through representation of smaller states and shares many ideals with UPC. Yachi finds AUTISM to be quite an annoyance, as they are constantly begging for wood and iron.
In the top right you'll see the list of all of the nations. Next to the name is the country's wealth represented in a gobal currency, and next to that is how many actions that nation has taken in the current day. Actions are pretty much anything besides purely diplomatic communication (i.e. making buildings, forming an army, moving troops, researching technology, but not making treaties or declaring war). If you just want to declare peace or war with a country then it doesn't cost an action.
The game has officially begun. Good luck.
P.S. - Please put all official actions in italics like this so I see them.
The world is in a time of early civilization. In the past few centuries 9 civilizations have risen, each with their own strengths and personalities. There are also barbarian encampments scattered throughout the lands, containing primitive people with no internal government who occasionally attack nearby nations.
The nations are as follows:
The Kingdom of Shwartz A nation run by templars that is quite wealthy. Most of their income is earned through selling potatoes and vegetables, which they farm extensively outside their capital. They also have a monopoly on diamonds. Overall the land is quite dry but contains fertile soil through its center.
The Bogdanian Federation Ruled by two siblings, this nation appears diplomatic but can find itself manipulating others in an effort to get ahead. They have abundant iron mines, taking the place as the world's top iron supplier. The lands are temperate but warmer to the east.
Dougland A large, bold civilization, Dougland makes its presence known through an iron fist and zero tolerance. It's strongest trading items are potatoes and wheat, as the land is dry and hostile to many plants.
Cogemelandia The Monarchy of Cogemelandia appears as a peace-loving nation, getting along well with its neighbor, United Provinces of Cats. Trading livestock with UPC is the main source of its income. Many regions are quite cold compared to the rest of the world.
United Provinces of Cats This nation is one of the few republics, preferring representative rule. As the owner of a gold mine, UPC is quite rich in addition to trading fish, fruits, and vegetables. The climate is extremely cold due to a low elevation.
Commonwealth of Merlot Isolated from the rest of the world, CoM relies on exporting rare southern fruits and fish and importing iron. CoM sports a purely democratic government and is quite peaceful.
The political map of the Kingdom of Shwartz has been created. The capital is marked by a star, and other major towns are marked by circles. Large names are names of the provinces of the K.S.
