send me some music recs and i'll rate them out of ten, average out the score and then put you all on a leaderboard to see who on epicmafia is the most patrician.
if you need any guidance i mostly listen to /mu/core but im open to anything except autotune-pop.
thanking you kindly,
delphine delight - blissfield woah! i love this! some really nice ambient techno vibes going on here, a bit chippy as well. imma buy a tape when im not dirt poor (: 9
avec sans - perth this is a bon iver cover right? yeah. i'm not 100% on what they've done with the song, it feels very rigid and skeletal, but it's a cool reinterpretation of a great song. 6
litku klemetti - jääkuningatar i haven't a clue what the vocalist is saying but this is a very nice and sunny song, nice guitar work, kinda reminds me of mac demarco but a bit faster. 7
oddisee - nnge love some conscious hip-hop. the beat is really solid, it's great to hear something that isn't auto-tuned trap for once. not sure about the feature but oddisee's contributions and the instrumental are hella tight. 8
macross 82-99 - now and forever solid tune, doesn't outstay its welcome at all and the lack of vocals definitely doesn't take away from it. can't say ill revisit this any time soon but it's a nice, lively tune with a fresh vibe. 6
chinese football - 清醒白日梦 aaaaaa. this is absolutely lovely and fantastic (kinda reminds me of mogwai's more chill moments) until about the 3:30, then it turns really pop-punky. not really a fan of that. sorry. 5
sinkane - passenger i've heard of this guy through his connections to DFA but i've never listened to him before. the instrumental is lush, very tropical, but his vocals do NOT suit the song at all. first one i haven't enjoyed. 4
gwenno - ymbelydredd this is another band trying to create that 80s-style nostalgic vibe and while i can definitely appreciate it objectively it just feels like there's something...missing. that being said it's a good song. 6
tomggg - butter sugar cream i misread the genre as britpop and was really surprised when it came on. anyway, this sounds like a dubstep remix of something from a pokemon game and that's not really my kind of music. too fluffy and naive. 3
kwamie liv - 5am it's a great instrumental but her voice is a bit rough and it's obvious she either wrote the lyrics before the song or can't make them flow at ALL. also autotune. 4
