Hey everyone, so it appears that I'm owner again. I'd like to preface this by saying that it's not with any malice or whatever that I'm coming back to this with, Merlot doesn't have time to own the lobby anymore (she's quite busy with work) and as such has been having difficulty picking a successor. Because of this, I'm here in this interim period to look after the lobby whilst we come to an agreement on who's gonna helm the ship from hereon out. I'm not entirely sure how long this period will last, it could be anywhere from a couple of weeks to over a month, but to the people who dislike me please rest assured that this is not permanent.

In the meantime, I'll be looking to streamline some of Sandbox's aspects and make a few quality of life tweaks for both the moderators and the regular users. If people have any recommendations of how to further improve Sandbox or who would make for a good successor, please don't hesitate to send me a private message.

With 3 active mods+owner you have people who view the chatbox and participate in games throughout the day and being there when a situation occurs can get everyone to chill the f out sometimes instead of things escalating, and that's done better instead of just 1 owner alone

under pretty much every owner there was always one particularly active user in the chatbox at the time, might just be a coincidence though *shrugs*

thats not how things work here

see main lobby thinks banning is just what you do when someone breaks a rule
couldnt be less true

lobby owners here are tasked with banning people in the most ironic ways possible, usually without warrant

not only that, control over text and background pictures means lobby owners have to step their meme game up exponentially. the background can't just be cute kittens and flowers for the sake of cute kittens and flowers, it has to be cute kittens and flowers because you wouldn't expect an ironic meme lobby to make cute kittens and flowers their background (this is poe'st-irony)

lobby polls will be bad, that's a given, but they have to be bad in just the right way. the owner has to be either original enough to create consistently creative polls or a devout enough plagiarist to consistently steal creative polls

it's a demanding job, banning is just for fun it's not a requirement

quality $#^%posting isnt easy, it takes a particular skill set. sure you're being paid in upvotes which is even worse than being paid in peanuts because you can't eat them but unless you want your ego to starve you better start putting in the work
