You have two metal rods that don't seem to be distinguishable normally (same color, weight, texture, etc.). However, you've been told that only one rod is magnetic. Is there a way to tell them apart?

wuriddles has a bunch of riddles ranging in difficulty from relatively easy to unsolved problems in mathematics that i used to mess around with when i was bored in high school
it's probably just a reference to their scales. which is kinda dumb bc there are types of armor other than chain mail which look far more like fish scales. i guess they were focusing more on making it sound cool rather than going for accuracy.
