the only reason i didn't watch 5 cm/s sooner was because I thought going in that it was going to be a romance movie (which is not what I view it as after having finally watched it). Is that why you dislike it -- because it's not a romance or doesn't really work if treated as such?

or was that one of those mistakes i'm the only person capable of making?

Oh yeah Ghibli's all that ppl recommend but my 3 favorite movies are Nausicaa, Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle 100% recommend those any day of the week

anything by satoshi kon really if you like perfect blue, paprika is one that comes to mind that i enjoyed a lot
