Everyone wants their role to be added. This isn't for everyone.

While lucid is actually active at present, this thread is for fixing roles and mafia-related features. Improving the game itself is more important than adding a bunch of role clones.

Day 2: Isn't bomb supposed to kill fabricator if they die from a fabbed gun?


to answer your second question: no. the bomb however does kill the illusionist regardless of whom they have disguised the shot behind.

clearing people based on kick mechanics isnt a good way to read someone


it's not for clearing people, it's for giving people time because lucid's timer isn't perfect for every game especially very long games

i would like to bump the other two fixes i suggested up again:

1. fix game settings like fullscreen, mute music, etc. to stay set

2. add alphabetical and most recent sort functionality to the learn page so we can learn the new roles without having to look everywhere for them

I'd like to suggest in a closed role game there being no more than one non-meeting maf in a game of three mafs. It can be proportional.

No more than 1 non-meeting in a game of three mafs.
No more than 2 non-meeting in a game of four mafs.

Etc.

For thirds like gambler where multiple can be in a game without the gambler win counting for all of them, can you add into the win message which one it is?

Like in https://epicmafia.com/setup/1372345 if a gambler were to win have it say, "Username, the Gambler, wins!"
Maybe just code so all the thirds use the same (Name) = Name, role system as the custom death messages do.

The modern problems of having too much stuff...

maybe it's a problem with old roles that appear differently, then

they should have suits, since that's a consistent mechanic in epicmafia and everyone understands it, but what you described sounds like one of two things is happening: either paranoid cop (and similar roles) uses hacky reveal logic to reveal as cop irregardless of suits, or they have suits but the suit is not properly replaced by tailors

the simple way for all of this to work is as follows:

roles that appear as x have x suit (miller has mafia suit, irregular cops have cop suits, gallis has villager suit, etc.)
when a player receives a suit any suit they previously had is replaced with the new suit

so paranoid cop has a cop suit, if tailored the suit is replaced

this is the simplest, most digestible way to manage suit logic (which encompasses all "reveals as" logic)

I would like to say that I did some testing with tailor (as i wanted to make a competetive setup.)

I made a simple 4 person setup with tailor 2 brides and a paranoid cop.
When I tailored the paranoid cop with a tailor suit, and brided the paranoid cop, the paranoid cop revealed as normal cop, and bride revealed as bride. I then suited the revealed bride as tailor, and the second bride was on tailor and the revealed bride re-revealed to be a tailor. Then I lynched the paranoid cop (who still had a tailor suit) and it still flipped as normal cop.

I think suit mechanics are important with bride - I really like the concept that the suit from tailor impacts how the bride works.

i don't know what you mean by that, suits affect how a player looks in the graveyard and as long as i could remember it affected revealed roles which was the bulk of tailor's use (the rest relying entirely on detective)

it simply makes sense that a person will be revealed in the suit they're wearing, i don't know what else a suit could possibly be for

miller logic may not state it (as most roles including the cop variants don't), but he actually wears a suit and it makes logical sense that he wears a suit to any mafia player

the way it was revised, the original system message only states that the "bride" proposed to (name), and it only says who the bride is if the other person accepts.

The bride proposes to (name)!

(name) declines! (no reveal)

(name) accepts! (both are revealed)

it simply makes sense to reveal both since the idea is that getting married reveals them

I mean, what with the system message and all, it's pretty obvious who the bride is even if it didn't reveal their role. You could make the system message private to the proposed and the bride only, I suppose, if you want to hide the bride's role.

this could work as a box pre-game. auto-kick if selected. honestly it would make sandbox games that much quicker since its so rare that you need the extra time.

Me and a group of friends are having a really hard time even playing a game without the whole thing crashing and the server deleting the game. We have never had this problem before and we are not using any of the newer roles.

Please, I beg of you, fix this issue! We love playing but it's becoming incredibly frustrating to even attempt to play.

Also, Idk if this is a bug or what, but some people seem to think so: is the Survivor supposed to be immune to kills when hiding? The role description seems to imply that it can only die if the person it's hiding behind is killed, but as far as I know if targeted it will still be killed on its own.

i thought this was fixed some time ago, especially since it's not how survivor originally functioned, but being able to kill survivor by targeting the survivor defeats the entire purpose of survivor. it's supposed to hide behind someone to *survive*, otherwise the whole hiding thing is meaningless
