I thought you can't pop yourself as huntsman.

voodoo was really strong when using key-words but is trash now that she was nerfed to only a 50% chance.

Claiming virgin as hunter is no longer as effective with the fearful paranoia of being huntsman. Try to pop yourself D1 and if you're not huntsman then keep sailing smoothly.

this is usually a mistake in judgement a lot of people have.


"fun" roles are not necessarily good roles. good cases of this are crier and voodoo which are actually below average roles but liked by everyone cuz le maymays.


thinking about your role only being fun if it uses its power is a mistake. mafia is a team game, unless youre 3rd party, and if you didn't get to use your power but that was a plus for town, then you should be happy even if you did nothing special power-wise

Being lynched as virgin is basically picking the kill for mafia, assuming its a one-death-night setup which is the usual.

Virgin should sacrifice themselves if it turns out there is an outed power role. if there isnt, then its not an optimal idea, because you are losing a player over something that may not be worth it, and losing the chance of protecting a power role later in the game.


Virgin can be used as a townsided fool. A strategy you can use is to claim a pr. Mafia may target you. If there is a cc and you get lynched, its not a wasted one completely. if they are trying to lynch the other person, you can just out. worst thing that would happen is that they wont lynch you, afraid of you being fool.


etc there are a few other strategic uses you can give to virgin. its not ALWAYS a bad thing to get lynched d1, and sometimes it is better, but its usually better to wait at least a day or two more

Ideally, it'd be good to lynch virgin after a PR has found mafia unless it's lylo. This allows PR to safely get another report. However, getting town on your side along with the PR to lynch you after claiming virgin would be extremely hard. People already have trust issues when it comes to people claiming virgin.

But also claiming virgin as virgin Day 1 guarantees a safe day for PR to get another report. Since virgin could always be killed after that and have their role powers become useless.

So, in the end, it all depends.

Day 1 is safe bet.

Any other time could be strategic.

I could see his point though-- mafia could then easily kill a valuable PR if they were sure it wouldn't be protected

I asked him about it before. He said it's best used after a power role outs a report. But usually when a power role outs a report, it's to out mafia. So naturally, people would lynch the mafia instead of virgin.
