Greetings EpicMafia community,

With everybody else doing their super cool forum games where they name their cannon fodder in video games after EpicMafia users, I thought I would hop on the bandwagon and do the same concept with the legendary Dwarf Fortress.

Dwarf Fortress is an extremely difficult open-ended world simulation game wherein you order your dwarves to build a magnificent colony to rival the glory of the Mountainhomes.

I've never played Dwarf Fortress before but I've done enough research to know how to manage it. I'll be using some mods to make the game last a good long while and keep the dwarves doing things.

Sign up by just commenting that you want to, and give me your dwarf's name and gender, please. If your dwarf dies I'll just put you in the back of the queue.

I'm currently trying to actually learn the game first before I try to run this again.

In my test fortress, you have had 4 dwarves named after you so far. Three are dead. The current living one in a mason.

Update 5, 9/26/16:



In spring we received some migrants.



This was our new crew. Art became the expedition leader because of his qualifications and because Mac was busy mining.



With PissProblems being a guard, I decided to start setting up the militia. The Golbamaniacs ended up dispatching lots of "awakened stones" for me:



Unfortunately, Quiche and Amelio didn't survive these fights. To remember Amelio, have one of his battle logs:

Toward early Autumn we discovered a cave. Hopefully it won't get in the way of construction for the stockpiles.

Infrastructure still isn't done yet and it's just become Fall. Hopefully, the caravan and migrant wave can help us out. I'll be buying some drinks since the plumbing still isn't done yet.

Update 4, 9/26/16:



The clean-up crew. By the time I saved they were already hard at work.



This is Mac's town now, boys.



Thoughtful's really got his work cut out for him, because I've got 17 floors that look just like this. They'll be stockpiles for all of our treasure.



Out by the front gate I set up some workshops to make floodgates for the plumbing. I doubt the plumbing will be finished anytime soon though since Thoughtful has so much work below, so I designated Mac as a miner too so things will speed up.

The game crashed while I was trying to reclaim, didn't even make it past winter.
