Tatami, you're the best at showing intent in your lines which is why I consider you the easiest player to townread on this website by a large f'ucking margin
I've found in more games than not, mafs out themselves right at day starts because they broadcast their night thoughts (along with other cues such as how quickly they broadcasted that night thought). I could find many examples of this happening, even the best players make this mistake. I do consider myself one of the best readers in the game because I don't think anyone else has figured out this trick. That doesn't mean I'm the best player, because I'm often lazy/scummy and can't ever be bothered to convince a read that I know is so abstract, the rest of the table will dismiss it as b'ullshit, or just fail to understand it
When I first found this trend, I made mistakes because I'd stick on the read without reconsidering other intents the player might've had (that I hadn't thought of). It's funny how bad some players are because in every game there's at least one town who everyone townreads just for being so scummy and I've summarized that kind of player as 'a town with no purpose or basis in what they're saying'
I'll give this another response because I didn't know whether you were being genuine or not
You need to throw out emotional intelligence. In online mafia it isn't necessary relate emotionally to the players at your table. If anything, lacking this capacity helps you stick to certain reads by ignoring players who, now realizing they're being lynched, trick you with some form of appeal. This is why most people make snap decisions hammering. I've seen hammers based on a line at the last moment and these are highly emotional people rather than ones of logic. Tatami, you're one of the top players because you lack that capacity to be aware of one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships.
If you can't figure out what people are thinking, then you are reading everything at total face value. For me I read lines and what's behind the lines. For example if you have something to say in a game, there is some purpose for saying it, and that purpose could be read intuitively to figure out alignment with just one sequence of lines. It's an abstract basis for knowing someone one's role....(ran out of space)
bernin is literally the most naturally scummy person ive ever met, i cannot recall a single time i townread him, how can anyone say hes good is beyond my understanding
I am the best drunk player tbh, i cant get lynched.
And i have never seen anyone has more consistent reads than soda when its about reading new players or random unknown. Hes just amazing at it

crypto was the best i played with. he was dominant, controlling and assertive, but also great at reading people. soben and vigoroth might rank behind him, they never made many mistakes at all. gira, fading, super and nails were all really good. dave in his prime was really good but always crumbled under pressure. maxwell made a lot of mistakes but i only got to play with him when he was already on the decline. the countless trophies brownpimp won speaks for itself really
junter deserves a mention too. he was the best i'd ever seen at reading people, but his temper cost him a lot of games
so it ultimately comes down to your ability to win people to your side and influence them to your way of thinking
I would define social game more so as being able to actually figure out what needs to be done at any given table and adjusting your play style accordingly. In some games just spamming and acting like a chimp gets people to do what you want, others acting civilized and putting a lot of time and effort into making your ideas seem well thought out and presentable rallies the troops, some games just outright bullying and insulting people gets them to do what you want. Every game is different and it requires some prowess to maneuver each one with poise.
Truth. Social game like I said. And I feel like I do this better than anyone. I already admitted I wasn't the best scumhunter. But I don't have to be in order to be the best player.
Mafia is also a TEAM game.
Take a game of basketball for example. X may be a better shooter than Y but Y wins more games because he helps his team score more points. Not necessarily by himself scoring more points, helping his TEAM do it.
