The Tatami AMA Pt. 2

about 8 years

The original: https://epicmafia.com/topic/75794

Want to ask me something because you're curious about me as a person?

Want to ask me something because you're curious about me as a player?

Want to just come in and talk about how I'm the worst thing to happen to the world after Hitler besides Natstar?

All of these and more are welcome here. Remade to include a poll.

What do you call me? Also known as the "You've deleted too many times the past 6 years" poll.

Close second goes to AdSense.

Honorable mention goes to Sammie and her girlfriend Nanami Oda.

What is the biggest em drama you have witnessed in ur time on em?

The first time a mod was outed as a cheater (happening 2 years before he was modded) it was a huge shitstorm and me/Maxwell nearly got the site shutdown after he confronted lucid about it.

i can't believe you answered my joke interview questions Lolz

I was tempted to write a startup-style parody speech to match but figured it'd be more amusing to actually give the Being Tatami manual.

I also had a full answer typed up to Elise's ideological question before realizing I could make a Dad joke.

3 EM users you'd room with throughout your 20's

Anthony, Calvin, Abe would make for hilarity, I don't know anyone else I could really see myself rooming with and getting on better with than those three.

I think we'd all end up killing ourselves a month into rooming with Abe

I think it's really obvious I'm not perfect, and you could create pages and pages of posts on this website alone showing that. I said before on a prior page I was the primary factor behind a suicide. I try to be the best person I can be, but that's a fact that will never change. I think a cumulative "morality" total is silly, but if you were to keep one, I'd be lagging behind most people.

I think another one of my posts here about how I don't believe in free will was a good description of my opinion on superiority or comparisons to other people.

Maybe I am, though.

Sincerely says

not to be anti-intellectual amidst all these srsquestions but how doth ur search for a sensei progress?

My search through the Tokyo over and underworld yielded no results.

I was extremely hopeful that I would find my sensei of destiny on the slopes or summit of Fuji, but all I found was a man selling stamps for your walking stick for 300 yen. I had no walking stick.

Demoralized but not defeated, I now search Kyoto.

on the bright side, you could probably write a great autobiography about balancing this struggle with your epicmafia games and textwalls

Is that a challenge

You can take it in that way, but the only reaction you'd really get out of me is a report to get you banned or to stop. When I can get that in return is the only time I really bother to give someone the reaction they want.

Why do you think you're so comfortable being this open about your personal life

I've never felt like I've had anything to hide.

I'm also very trusting of people and eager to connect with them, and a lot of that is divulging yourself, who you really are, and I am more than happy to wear that on my sleeve.

You also can't really harass me with it if I don't care to begin with. Anyone trying to be sinister towards me I really just look at with pity rather than anger. It's pretty hard to get me angry or really upset with comments directed to me, I've got skin of 10 ft thick steel.

Quote from my first AMA as I feel it's relevant, in response to "What's the best life advice you've got?" from Oksus

Tatami says

First would be that you should always remember that the most beautiful thing in the world is to love and be loved by other people. I mean this in the sense that no amount of success in the world will make up for that.

Second would be to just be honest. Not in the sense of being critical of people a lot, but speaking about yourself. Don't try to appear as someone you're not or have aspects of yourself you feel like you need to hide. It generally works out better that way.

the reason people blame others for losses is because this game is, for the most part, a game of cutting losses. same reason AtE works. you'll hammer with the person who'll make you feel most dumb if you do otherwise. a lot of trick to this game will be to realise that in yourself, and actually begin playing the game. but of course appearances are everything.

Noted.

Cody says

why do you like me

You're imperfect and you know it and try to be better is the simple answer. As for things you do right, you're pretty intelligent, try to be very empathetic (though you are definitely very prone to outbursts, sorry), you're a loyal friend. That's basically it.

AdrenalineMime says

What's your culture like? Give me a description of a typical day for you. What's the dress code like?

Culturally I'm pretty all over the place, I really cinema from all over, television series almost exclusively anime (but I barely watch it at all), games I prefer RPGs, Japanese or Western, but again rarely play them, literature I read from all over. I'm a very minimalist person and do not own many things-I completely pack up and move out of my dorm every year in less than 30 minutes.

For daily schedule, I wake up, I do whatever I feel like (study/read/play mafia), go to lunch, go to the gym, for the rest of the day do whatever (study/read/play mafia/go out/socialize), eat dinner at some point in the middle of that, stay up late on my computer and wrap up whatever else I feel like I need to do, whether it's play another game or watch a movie or read an article or talk to a friend.

My dress code is extremely simple, I almost always dress in either a simple button down or solid color tshirt, and wear chinos/jeans of various colors. Occasionally I mix it up and throw in a tank or wear short khakis/solid color shorts. I prefer black or blue w/ brown leather Vans for casual shoes, and Wayfarer-style sunglasses. Jacket wise I just have a thin fleece Columbia one.
