Fam, I'm really not trying to be rude with this question, but have you taken college level classes in statistics, criminology, applied criminology, police culture, criminal justice ethics, sociology, criminal justice, causation and prevention of crime, or restorative criminal justice? I've taken most of these classes and spent several years studying criminal justice and law at a college level. I've tried to correct some of your misunderstandings on a criminological and sociological level, but they're kind of just flying over your head. I'm looking up the statistics you're quoting, and lots of them are exposing problems with your understanding of statistics and interpreting research. I'm honestly trying not to play the authority card, but your comments on this are betraying an underlying lack of understanding about many basic levels of criminal science.
no, i was explaining why they are incarcerated more often than white people - the answer is if you target one specific group and you only pull them over eventually you're going to arrest enough to convince yourself that only they do the crimes, or rather they do the crimes more often than another group when infact both groups do it at the same rate
It is wrong that they are profiling, but they are still breaking the law to be put in there.
fkn sigh lol
dude i don't do these debates because it leads nowhere, white right wingers will always have the same talking points and i'll always have the same evidence. maybe justrec has some patience for u right now lol

There is more police where there is more crime. I'm confused how your wanting to solve this. "These communities do more crime so less cops should be in these neighborhoods so less black people are arrested"
sigh
Devante you are literally saying that blacks should be arrested less for doing crimes

Everything sucks you can't blame just black people and can't blame just the government

White people who have never had to grow up in poverty will always easily look down on blacks and think the problem is black and white: black people's fault. It's all their doing, nothing that is happening to them is bad. They need to do better. Get yourselves together blacks.

what i'm saying in sort is if you continue to target one race you're going to see numbers correlating to that. it's also been proven that once someone enters the system it's hard to get out of it
In New York, a very diverse city here are the numbers of the unlawful stop and frisk
look at how every year more and more black people were stopped,of course the more you stop the more you're going to arrest
if the numbers for whites matched i'm sure just as many white people would've been locked up for weapons and drugs and shiiit
It is wrong that they are profiling, but they are still breaking the law to be put in there.

Fam have you read or done any research on that Baltimore DOJ report so you can at least come to the understanding that the police in america are still, with the government systematically kicking down poor black american communities and making it nearly impossible for them to ever build up
I've acknowledged multiple times that the government does thing to hurt the black community. But the community doesn't help by keep letting themselves fall into the system by committing crimes.
Okay, this is why we'll never come to an agreement - you fail to see the correlation between the over policing of black communities which leads to more arrests in those communities which in turn leads to more people who can no longer get a job due to background checks, which leads to more people turning to the only way they know how to make money which is selling drugs, which then leads to them getting arrested again, and again, and again,
police now don't think they're part of the problem but instead the solution so they amp up their patrols, to try to get rid of the criminals, but instead start profiling people in the community - creating more criminals who then follow the path of the "aforementioned criminals"

Your logic would be valid if whites as a whole were stuck in poverty stricken neighborhoods where it is exteremly hard to make it out of.

Let's systematically breed mixed people so everyone is both white and black
> I have a child so i'm going to smoke an illegal narcotic that could get me arrested and makes it harder for me to get a stable job.
Dude you realize the whole history of marijuana prohibition is based off racism? and there's no reason for it to still be a banned substance when alcohol - a much more dangerous drug is completely legal
I'm all for the legalization for marijuana thats not the point. The point is its illegal and you can't make the excuse it should be when you are caught doing, because as it currently is now it isn't legal and you have full knowledge it is against the law.
I know everyone is talking at you right now, but look at what you're saying. It's illegal, so you have no excuse. What if black people are 80% of the Kool-Aid drinkers and white people are 20% of the Kool-Aid drinkers? I make it illegal to drink Kool-Aid. My policy has a disparate impact on the black community, and the legality of Kool-Aid drinking doesn't even need to come into play here. Now go look at Nixon's comments when he started the war on drugs. Look at the fact that crack cocaine sentences are 100x more harsh than powder cocaine sentences and look at the statistics about powder vs crack usage by race.
If it becomes illegal and you know its illegal why keep drinking it? But the government has done some shady stuff, you can read how up on how the government introduced crack to the black communities.
Maybe we should change this talking point to something a white man would understand more
let's make their guns illegal

The focus of blm is the wrongful treatment of blacks by police force and the justice system treating them unfairly. They are still doing a crime do be put in these positions of the unfair treatment. They need to make equal if not greater efforts in correcting the current culture of their communities.
well, nearly 85% of white people are killed by other white people in white communities, so your black on black statistics don't really matter.
also there are groups designed to preventing and stopping violence in black communities.
Yes it does matter, because of the disproportionality of it. Blacks are 13% of the population and committing over 50% of homicides and majority of them are black.
