I haven't really followed this thread at all but if you guys want a really good read look into "But what if we are wrong?" by Chuck Klosterman. It's a history book about the present from the perspective of someone who knows all of our fundamental ideas are wrong, basically how we view people who used to think the world was flat.
But the author got lots of help from scientists like Neil DeGrasse Tyson to write the book and it's incredibly funny along with interesting.

i would've participated and read the book if we actually read we voted for rather than deciding 600 pages was too long for a book club

Do weekly short stories it's a lot easier to read than a novel.

Books are the best

May I recommend The Kingkiller Chronicles(by Patrick Rothfuss), which are two books of a trilogy. It's a beautifully worded, well-put together fantasy series that has entranced me through Rothfuss's masterful wording and poetry, as he has moved me and enlightened me through the readings.

Also, I would read a book by LostProphet. Why hasn't he published one yet?

I never read it but The Last Ring Bearer is like lord of the rings but were Mordor is actually good, and it's good because lord of the rings was an account written by the victors and they say that's not how it happened, In the book it says that Mordor is a peaceful country on the verge of an industrial revolution, that is a threat to the war-mongering and imperialistic faction represented by Gandalf and the elves.
