My wpm on a crappy keyboard is between 140-165, so I'm looking for something which will allow me to be a bit more nimble, and won't clog underneath my fingers.
yeah, definitely try to use the apex key before you buy then since reds are the opposite of what it sounds that you like
keep in mind, they use their own switches and i've never tried them. the internet just tells me they're identified closely with reds
did you sell the salt in the winter? did you know salt is harder to come by during the winter because they use it to melt the snow in the northeast of america
edit: oh ya, also all the switches in general are just more loud than the regular membrane keyboard, so maybe just the switch from that may be good enough and the other switches may be too loud for you
Yeah that's why I liked the Apex. You can put timers on the keys to light a certain colour, so if for example you were playing a MOBA or an RPG, you could set it so that the cooldowns were shown on the keyboard. I probably wouldn't use it, but just knowing I had the option is the sort of pointless thing I care about.
I don't feel comfortable about buying Razer products anymore to be honest, so I don't think I was going to go down that route anyway. I'll try and find somewhere to use the keys before I go ahead and buy. I like loud, satisfying clicky noises, but I also want a keyboard that just insanely responsive and doesn't suck your fingers in when you type on it. Do they red keys make a nice sound?
good point, i also use one of those small keyboards for typing at work which i had no problem with (that uses blues), i just have not played with one of those for gaming if thats an issue for you

and it has backlighting ??????????? jizz, backlighting, jizz, backlighting
ya i also lied, apparently razer has cheaper chroma keys that use their outdated keys
ill just give the general advice everyone usually gives. if possible, try to try the different keys out somewhere
mostly the difference is based on the reaction you get when you actually click a key. for example, i like blues for typing because they make a loud noise and its pretty enjoyable to type fast with the keys being loud as fk
i personally like the keys where you 'feel' something when you press the key, so its up to preference. apparently the M800 uses switches mostly close to red, which don't really give you a reaction when typing on the key
