tide's family avatar has not changed from the default 'noavi' picture, so I suspect your problem lies in the file format or size. Please try resizing the image to smaller dimensions.
Family avatars don't immediately update because every upload after the first upload shares the same URL: https://epicmafia.com/uploads/families/XXXXX_original.jpg
so the browser does not know when to retrieve a fresh copy.
but a switch from https://epicmafia.com/images/avatar_original.jpg to https://epicmafia.com/uploads/families/XXXXX_original.jpg should be instant once you clear your cached files.
