i agree with the time thing btw, thats why i kinda wanted to get an answer about that. people complain about the round being paused and then complain about this guy not having been given an opportunity to respond
mainly they complain because you could've been doing all this throughout the round, but whatever since that can't always happen
if the guy was being investigated/suspected, the round had already been paused 1 day and at any time they could've contacted him. "we have found so and so and this is against the rules" notification out or courtesy. were the mods really scrambling to get this out before the next round reset deadline that they had to suspend him 3 minutes before round ended?
anyways, i think the guy was getting something for what he had done, so it becomes a question of whether everyone deserves a 24 hour window to respond to allegations or not. but either way, he should've got some kind of contact from the mods

people don't understand that when two very good players play together and can read each other easily after playing together so much, nine times out of ten it turns out to be a town win. i think my case is pretty similar to you and mori's

Of course, you lads spent your lives here, you must be knowing better than me.
ya but the x2 point setups usually do have good players in them with the exception of noobs which is something u get in comp often, plus if we limit it to 20, more people will go to comp less and red heart more as "competitive players" because they have no choice - therefore making the red heart games less nooby and more fun.
i understand wanting to play with someone u enjoy the company of, seriously, its something id do myself if i was still 16 on EM but at the same time if you're going to do it purely for "fun" you should know off the bat that if you get into a trophy position, its being taken away
if they just want to have fun they can play red hearts in some games? and then 20 golden hearts together.. i mean seriously.. and if they just want to have fun, they can request to be suspended after they go over 20 games and possibly win a trophy lol
not to mention that unranked exists too, where you can play unlimited amounts of time together. literally it is a competition what is so competitive about playing with people who naturally don't want to lynch you
I can think of a few issues why someone wouldn't want to play red hearts
1) Lower quality level of play because people enter red heart tables who have no experience playing competitively.
2) Tables that aren't Fancy Pants are harder to fill. Most of the time if you create a red heart competitive setup it won't fill.
I understand the desire to want to play 50 competitive games with your friend.
I also understand the unfair advantage players obtain by playing that many games with a friend who essentially wants them to win.
ngl i get salty when people said 10 games with mori was too much cause i can 'read her too well' but i see people playing almost 40 games together in a round and its ok lol
I mean you could give the guy 24 hours to respond but I don't see any point in doing that at all. What happened in the games happened in the games and he won't be able to change the past ever, let alone in 24 hours
and people can say "you can't limit how much people have fun with their friends its just a game" but people are spending 10 days of their life on this and its a competition, if you really like ur friends so much why don't you play red heart? lmao
yeah playing competitive mafia with your friends sounds like a great way to ruin your friendships
i don't think the 8 games he said he would swear on his mother is worth a DQ three minutes before the round ends
i think it does, because he meta abused in more than 8 games. the amount of times he didn't do it as mafia would boost that number up, as that too plays into the meta abuse deal. if there are no mafia games to compare it to, then there would be no way to see if this guy meta abused in the way he did or not i'd say
i also don't think it matters at what time it happened as long as it was the right call. either people complain "why did the mods waste a day, just end the round already" or if the mods actually choose not to waste another day when they've already made up their minds with the evidence fully examined and all the work done, people say "the mods rushed this and it was a hasty decision" even though sometimes the round was paused for 2 days or more. it's a pretty unfair double standard.
yes i have the gold star but this opinion doesn't necessarily reflect that of the mods. i was modded today and wasn't even involved in the situation but this is just my two cents
I have played with friends before and trust me, they feel really bad when I'm town and I get lynched because of their read (even if they're mafia, even if they're town) and being wrong once has probably prevented them from pulling the trigger at least 3 more games after that
if they just want to have fun they can play red hearts in some games? and then 20 golden hearts together.. i mean seriously.. and if they just want to have fun, they can request to be suspended after they go over 20 games and possibly win a trophy lol

honestly, finding cheaters becomes pretty tedious when playing 30-50 games with people is allowed. at the very least, a rule limiting it to 20 would be very nice
In an ideal world meta abuse and friend bias wouldn't exist. Unfortunately it's not fair to prevent friends from play 50 games with eachother if their goal is just to have fun and not trophy.

however, i will say this. i actually find it odd that you would use your company email for a epicmafia.com account. if you found epicmafia at work and created the account at work, i can see that, but i actually have doubts about somebody finding a game website at home and then using their company email to sign up for it
Well, its because I dont work at McDonalds. I have been working with multiple people with their own corporate email chains, personal email are there for personal, very personal things, like my bank accounts/paypal account etc. are linked to it, I keep it a secret and not share it. Rest spammy is redirected to my corporate emails which are under lesser traffic. And I did find this game at work where gmail was blocked on our Company W-LAN.
and people can say "you can't limit how much people have fun with their friends its just a game" but people are spending 10 days of their life on this and its a competition, if you really like ur friends so much why don't you play red heart? lmao

all you have to do is imagine they are some banned user that doesn't deserve it anyways and you can throw all emotion aside
also, sorry to hear then. i don't agree with giving you the suspension 3 minutes before without letting you know, but i don't think there was any persuasion that couldve changed the outcome. goes back to what pranay was saying about being given a 24 hour response then
Yo Denial, you have played with me, if you think I was cheating you should be the one not joining my games, but thanks for letting me know and dont join games I am in.
i wouldn't actively try to avoid people unless i cared about winning the game. also, i'd probably prefer to witness firsthand so i can get my own opinion on the matter
btw, my statement wasn't saying i thought you were a banned user or a cheater, but just my thoughts on the matter on why it was handled in the way it was. i think you should've given that 24 hour window

It seems stupid having a handful of people have to look into cheating activity over multiple players every 8 or 9 days. It's draining, and as a result, they no longer take it seriously.
if u put a terrible player to run five times in a row they'll probably get at least a bronze, and considering the fact that the rounds go over and over again, it's not like it would take a long time and feel "earned" because there will be rounds where basically no skilled people are running besides 4, two of which get thrown against, the other two either get 1st/2nd or one quits
