Now that we have two decent admins who I think are willing and ready to embrace change (for the better) I believe it is an opportune time to bring forward a suggestion with regards to trophying.
I believe that the rule stopping people from trophying twice in a row is unnecessary and really does not have a strong reason behind it .
As a competitive person, I would much rather go up against everyone and anyone who wants to run. For example this round gerry cant trophy which means I am unable to compete against him which would make the round more enjoyable and competitive. I'd love to see which players are good enough to win more than 1 trophy in a row. It is also something new to strive for, for those who have already trophied and need something new to achieve.
I don't really see why people shouldnt be allowed to trophy twice in a row. I dont think it would cause the same people to win trophies every round, it would be quite a feat to be able to trophy twice in a row. Anyone who could achieve this would thoroughly deserve it. Removing this restriction will just allow for higher levels of competition in my mind.
this is a epicmafia competition. nobody goes into the competition with the mindset "man i really hope I can beat gerry this time!!!!!" in fact, i'd argue you would lose competition because some users are simply going to go "man, forget trying for a trophy. gerry is just going to win anyways"
its a lot more enjoyable and brings more people into the fold when they feel like they have a chance at winning
the main reason i'd advocate leaving it as it is because apparently at some point it was decided it would be changed to this and I can see why
when somebody is dominating the board time and time again, thats when you start to lose users because it gets stale. most people do not enjoy a game they feel like they can never win.
it may not be too great of an advantage to be able to pick your own setup, but if 8 users played all their games together every round (which is as far as i know something thats allowed as long as there isn't some type of abuse) and somebody was winning every round because of it, there will be rivers of tears

Placing is also based on luck and it doesn't guarantee that they'll trophy on it. It's more fun running on a setup you pick yourself and it's a bit unfair you can't.
Imagine someone winning a trophy just because they got to run on vdli when they think it's their best setup.
Would never happen, people don't have special setups that they can destroy everyone at. At best someone's gonna be slightly better on a given setup because of experience in it.
Yeah it doesn't make a lot of sense but it'll probably stay in place just because that's the way things have always been done. In my opinion if you ran fairly and placed it doesn't make sense to not be rewarded for it. I think the restriction made more sense in Comp lobby when it was a pretty small player base running.
Lol at people implying that certain players are so good at a setup that by comping it they will trophy again. No one is that much better at a setup that it makes it unfair.
the only argument that can e used against winning consecutive trophies that i would stand behind is; the game is cancer and no one should waste 20 straight days trying to win 2 trophies

You're just using one case where medals are given out to those who placed in top three while there are other numerous competitions that allow from consecutive winners yearly. This includes, but is not limited to the Pokemon World Championships, Yugioh TCG World Championships, and even my own high school's sports athletic program. There are no consecutive winners when each competition is held, and if there is (which is the case for my athletics program), that is just one division that is overtaking the games while other sports it's really close as to who wins.
ok.. but thats not how sports work devante. we usually give the advantage to the losing player the next time around because they lost and need something to potentially help them so its not a total blow out every time
id keep it as it is tbh. its a lot easier to not have to deal with people complaining citing the reasoning forrest gives and it is a lot more boring for people if the same person wins everytime
not to mention i mean potentially people could play with the same 8 and actually make their own setups/etc balh asfegsdglkasg
