Season 5 was an awesome season with our winner Reamix! We had some sad departures leaving the EMI Judges table, shout out to Kam and Luis4rod for their hard work and service. Thank you for all of those who participated, you are all so talented and we would not be able to have this without your amazing voices. No amount of thank you can be said to our judges who worked very hard and were so dedicated to helping and giving their all to our singers to improve each week.
Helloooo here is my entry! <3 As much as I love listening to vintage/jazz songs, I really wanted to give it justice although my voice did not quite fit this style of music- but I hope you guys still enjoy it nevertheless.
as of right now it's the last season, that's my statement as host. I don't want to say anything more till we are at least half way or at the end to put out an official statement. We still have a long way to go before even mid way. I know a few of you have asked and are curious but as of right now that's all the information I can say. However the more people that are interested = a likely hood of it continuing.
@thatsoraven umm does this really have to be the last season cuz I could do another one, like I have more time over the summer. Or maybe em voice logistically either of those could work given the limited population of em.
Universe its just some competition on a game forum. Nothing worth caring about beyond a shrug. There isn't even any compensation. Just enjoy the break your vocals get. I was down when I got eliminated but I just shrugged it off after realizing how silly it was to have anything more than a sigh of a reaction.
Also don't quote me. I'm just giving my unsolicited advice as someone who was in the same situation as Universe.
Trump, I offered him a second chance guest entry and they declined.
trust me when I say. I'm not mad at anyone because this is the internet and EMI is a fun thing to do. But I cannot tolerate a certain behavior towards people who work hard and volunteer to judge. All the judges are using the same criteria listed in the rules to score everyone. Lowest 2 scores sadly get eliminated. Thats how EMI works.
Oh EpicMafia. Too serious for common courtesy; not serious enough to prevent the Trump account from playing.
As many of you know, I am a master negotiator known for winning games left and right. An impartial third party might be helpful here.
thatsoraven, are you interested in helping people improve? If so, great! In that case you need to call 'em as you see 'em. Otherwise they'll never improve.
Universe, are you interested in having your singing fairly judged? If so, great! If you're not being treated fairly, you need to speak up and say why you disagree.
Keep in mind the stakes here. This is not open heart surgery. This is freaking karaoke for imaginary points.
thatsoraven: Do you want to be a beloved host? Do you want to be trusted by others? Do you want to be known for THE BEST judgements?
Be ready to do for others more than you would expect from them if circumstances were reversed.
Your competitors have enthusiasm for singing. That's why they signed up in the first place. They think that doing this will be fun. (They'll leave if it isn't.)
Universe: I, for one, would be interested in hearing what you'd sound like if you had a second chance. I would very much appreciate it if you posted another recording in this forum for me to hear.
Judges: Frankly, I question why you're cutting people from the audition round in the first place.
You don't have stadiums of people auditioning. You have 16. You even had to extend the deadline to fill the game. It's in your interest to keep these 16 people as happy as possible.
Do you have talented people? Obviously.
Will some people have less talent than normal? Law of averages says yes.
If some of them suck, so what? Let them submit a R1 entry, they're not hurting anybody.
If they still suck after your advice, at least you can say you tried to help when they're cut.
If they suddenly become good, you've made a more interesting and competitive game.
clearly you didnt read the first comment either, all I said what that they knew what I was singing, thats ALL I SAID, then the petty judges came after me, its one of the pettiest things they couldve done, you are honestly trying to say that that was the prettiest thing you've seen is one of the biggest lies coming from a troll, I am not suining sht alright, unless other people are refusing to submit songs because of my comment, so get over yourself.
TBH I couldn't tell what you were singing either and I'm not saying this to be mean I'm trying to say this so you will understand that the judge nor I was trying to be hateful towards you. I understand you rushed this audition, and you and I both know it was not up to par, but that is no one's fault but your own. I had many people upset with some of the comments I made when I was a judge, but I have never seen anyone act as petty as you are right now after a friendly online competition. When you sign up for this comp you are signing up to be judged by the judges, not the other way around. You are ruining something that is meant to be fun. I'm glad I left before this season.
Okay look at this host upset because I called out one of their judges, accept the criticism gracefully, I literally called out ONE of the judges, and the only criticism I said was they knew what I was singing. Now since you ignorantly made this comment, you clearly did not read the discussion that went on, I specifically said that the audition was rushed, at night, and the worst thing I've done. You carried it further by taking your own salted feelings and come after me. This comment also says to me that you are a rude, ignorant host, one of the more arrogant users on this site, and a disgrace to emi. And your pointed attitude towards any criticism means you are just as bad as that judge. I will say it was an experience exposing YOU as the ignoramus and a horrible host, lacking the basic skills needed to handle a little criticism.
contestants who are eliminated please leave gracefully. This also goes to judges who have been kicked out and have been asked not to involve themselves in anything EMI related.
genuine questions regarding critiques are welcome but any pointed nature or attacking any judges critique will result to immediate disqualification.
We can all have fun but let it be a warning that any foolishness will not be tolerated. Keep singing and keep having fun<33
