Season 5 was an awesome season with our winner Reamix! We had some sad departures leaving the EMI Judges table, shout out to Kam and Luis4rod for their hard work and service. Thank you for all of those who participated, you are all so talented and we would not be able to have this without your amazing voices. No amount of thank you can be said to our judges who worked very hard and were so dedicated to helping and giving their all to our singers to improve each week.

I'm pretty okay with this recording (definitely better than my 1st Round song for S4) and Ihope I can progress this time. As I was listening tho, I wonder if I made a mistake with some bigger notes at the end, especially the long one at the very end (OMG I sound like a didgeridoo...) I'm also mad at myself for misreading the deadline thinking it was due by tomorrow night instead of tonight *cue facedesk*

I have received a PM from a judge saying that my first song choice, "They're Red Hot" by Robert Johnson, is does not enough of a "love" song to be considered for this competition.
I will respect the decision of the judges, although I disagree with it. It is a love song. That is why the lyrics were posted: to settle all doubt. Johnson played it to charm the women he met when he travelled from city to city. I call upon the judges to reconsider their decision. By those standards, 98% of lyrics written by 30s African-American blues players are not "love" songs. History clearly shows that both bluesmen and audiences felt otherwise. Likewise, my vocal performance on "They're Red Hot" is more practiced, more passionate, and has better recording quality.
However, if this is still not acceptable, I will put forward "Love Is Sweeping the Country", originally written by George and Ira Gershwin in 1931 for my entry.

Yes, you are listening to my voice. Yes, I really can sing that fast. The recording was not sped up. No karaoke versions were available. The backing track comes from cover with vocal stems isolated. The tempo varies somewhat from the original. Many different songs were considered. Though the instructions given were rather vague, they never specified that blues songs were prohibited. Unless I receive notice before Monday, I will assume that this song fits every limitation you are setting.
