Some facts to consider:
All patients have the right to refuse treatment if they are terminally ill.
Doctors treat pain during end of life, palliative care. Not all terminal illnesses end painfully.
You can request a do not resuscitate order ahead of time, in case you are every incapacitated and cant make decision
Assisted suicide is NOT asking a doctor to help give you a lethal injection. This is called euthanasia and its legal in many places including the US.
Assisted suicide is asking asking a medical professional to buy you a gun because you are underage, while the medical professional KNOWS AND ACCEPTS that you plan on shooting yourself with it.

Pros: -Incurable diseases that will only cause you pain later -Also avoid high medical bills that you leave your family with -You chose when you get to say goodbye to your family -You are walked through a process to accept what you're doing, instead of just resorting to something in the spur of the moment
Cons: -People with low self worth may feel pressured into doing it -They miss their chance of possibly getting better in the future
This is just throwing out some debate thoughts, I'm too tired to form some actual thoughts but I just hope not to be offensive, these are legitimate concerns and thoughts on the matter that Cub should have been posting
similar to abortion the strongest argument against assisted suicide is that a doctor might have moral issues with performing their duty. my response to that is to just get doctors who don't have a problem with it because many don't.
