I THINK IM BEING UNFAIRLY TARGETED HERE. I AM NOT WILDWALRUS. I AM NOT WILDWHALE. I AM NOT NEET.
I HAVE ONLY MADE ONE TOPIC IN MY ENTIRE TIME ON EM, AND THAT TOPIC DID NOT ATTACK ANY MODS IN ANY WAY. I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING TREATED AS IF I AM ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING WILDWALRUS AND WHALE HAVE DONE.
so narwhal what made you turn from someone who has never posted in the forums to making gimmick accounts specifically to troll this website's moderation? was it that you got banned?

Johnreid is a pretty intelligent dude, he's like the mclovin guy from Superbad who was also a pretty smart guy, some say too smart for his own good.
A correction to the last paragraph in my previous post:
You're free to criticize what we do to any extent that you want as long as you clearly show that your intentions aren't for the sole purpose of antagonizing users from the administration. You might say that it's circular or hypocritical for us to judge what is "too much," as we claim to (and do) welcome and respect users' opinions and criticisms. But it is true that you waived your right to "say whatever you want" when you signed up for an EM account, as that contract implicitly means that you agree to the terms of service.
It was an attempt at casually getting the point across, which, in retrospect, I should probably not do in the future. The bottom line is that it's the administration's right to determine what content is appropriate for the site because they own and run the site; we as the site's users accept that and use the site, or oppose it and either voice our opposition or leave. In the process of voicing our opposition, we must not violate the terms of our original contract because by remaining on the site we are still bound by them.
This isn't to say that the administration dislikes and censors all dissenting opinion. I daresay that if Walrus hadn't tried to do the equivalent of a public execution when it came to SimplyPam and Annajane's case he would have been acknowledged and respected by both the users and administration. When you express a controversial opinion, it's your job to do it in a way that shows that you have the best wishes of the site at heart and that you aren't hurting it in the process of achieving your desired result.
