Pot and i actually argued about this last night and I had the opposite opinion. Cory doesn't offend me and I enjoy talking to her sometimes. But if she's gonna harass certain users and say some pretty bad stuff then she's gonna get banned. That simple
The same could be said for the owner/mods making a big deal of the same thing. No one is deeply offended, they just don't know/like Cory, and therefore are bandwagoning on behalf of their friends who report anything and everything that isn't said from a friend. Thus the circlejerk.
You're just attempting to defend your girlfriend's dumb remark. She is wrongfully saying that everything that goes on right now is "probably Cory", when its probably not. We are excusing other player's behavior and placing the blame on one person who is being more disruptive than usual lately.
Why should we have to "shut up"? We are a community, and just like the Owner/mods have opinions, so do we, and we are allowed to voice them. It is unfortunate that your girlfriend has to be at the center of it, but its what she knowingly signed up for when she applied to become a mod.
I just don't know why you guys have to make a big deal out of literally anything an owner or mod does. It's a banned user. They're deeply offending multiple people. Just because you're not the person cory is personally going after doesn't mean you get to start drama lol. Just shut up already it doesn't even affect you. Literally just rules being enforced
Nikki, I think when their friends do it, it's fine because it's all in good humor. But when someone like Cory who more-or-less from what we can tell actually means what they say says it, it's intended to be hurtful.
Besides this, and as Montagne stated, most of you don't get it because you aren't old users like some of us are. Cory has been around for years, and will always be around. There is nothing you or the mods can do about it no matter how hard you try. My advice is to treat it, and her as a nuisance, just like you would with any other user you may not like. Stop trying to create a silly movement, and stop trying to blame one user for everything. It means nothing, will do nothing, and you are investing your energy into a pointless, and honestly dumb, matter. Remember, the internet is not a safe space no matter how hard you try to make it into one. Sandbox was created for people to be silly, and the only reason we have rules is because of Adsense. These rules were created to keep Sandbox running, not to protect your feelings over what words "hurt" you on the internet.
One more thing, the vast majority of you did not even know who Cory is until now, and quite honestly, you're all just bandwagoning.
The real question is, why are you all so offended by what Cory says? The circlejerk makes silly remarks to one another all the time, yet when someone outside of the circlejerk does it, its a problem. All you have to do in chatbox is utilize what the mute button is intended for; to avoid someone you don't want to speak to. And if that doesn't do it, we should all try to put on our adult diapers and stop taking what someone, who you will probably never even cross paths with in real life, says to us to heart.
Cory is a banned user and whenever she builds up 5 games she goes to chatbox to spam HC and harass various users, me included. If Cory would stop being a pitiful human I think she could work her way back to being unbanned like some users do, but since she has no thoughts of stopping spamming HC and making alts just to harass people then it is extremely justified for mods to block her out at any given chance they get.
If you knew the history of Cory, something rockgirlnikki mentioned in her post - you would understand the argument that she's trying to make. Yet again, you're trying to involve yourself in the centre of attention.
The site mods probably mandated it, or Potentate made it out of her own free will. Garden seems to think that Cory getting banned over and over again is a minor nuisance.
Cory is not a big problem. Cory has been around for years, doing the same thing for years. Its nothing new, nor is it anything that needs to be made a big deal about. Garden takes things too personally with some users, like they did with Sishen (not that I'm defending Sishen - at all). I think if you were truly concerned for the well-being of the sandbox community, you would make it about any "trolls" that cause "disruptive" behavior in general, not just pinpoint Cory. Its also absurd to me that you would say that its "probably Cory", when its probably not, and if it is, there's no question about it.
