Is spamming in sandbox games against the rules? I was given a vio for spamming in a sandbox game which I'm not too fussed about. But what I am fussed about is the inconsistency with which this rule is applied.
What irks me is that, while providing evidence of this rule not being applied elsewhere, my second appeal was sustained without any reasoning given or any mention of the other report.

You're literally doing nothing but hurting your own image and the mod team's image by posting what you did. There is no benefit in any way to you, the team, or even Connor. It's pointless. You can message him privately and tell him not to worry about it. GuiltyTowney isn't even directly insulting Connor personally. It's valid criticism. You're just handling very immaturely. It does not matter if he is your friend, because this is not about him being your friend. You vehemently defending him in itself is not bad, but telling someone "shut up dude," you are shutting down his perfectly valid complaints.
It's stupid and wrong, and you shouldn't post that as a moderator, especially since these people are complaining about you doing things like this within the thread.

Maybe the fact that these users are taking this so seriously is the point when you should, as a mod, stop posting to spite them.
It's not about dressing up your posts, it's about you being a moderator and that coming with a necessary community management role. If a user brings up a legitimate point, you don't undermine them. I'm not asking for you to add smilies and hearts in all your posts or to type as if this was a meeting brief for the CEO of Goldman Sachs, but some degree of professionalism and (feigned?) concern would be appreciated.
You're definitely being disrespectful by treating the issue as completely irrelevant or by focusing on things that weren't part of the issue. Your first post here told us that hima has been handling reports a certain way for a while and that this is nothing new, yet you completely failed to address the point raised -- there was a lack of consistency. You then continued to undermine the problem by saying wertyo's vio was "not a big deal" -- it's not about the report, which you'd know if you cared to understand the problem. Replying to someone's argument with just a picture -- condescending, demeaning and frankly frustrating. You treat people here as if they were stupid. It's like talking to a wall.
Your last post is especially bad since you reiterated how little you cared about what wertyo ever said and then went "now yall know spamming is bad, so we're sorted (aka shut up)" -- which is false, since posting on a random topic in the forums is not something that the community should be expected to see.
You never showed one ounce of humility, or conceded that this lowly user may actually be right. You just rode on your stride of arrogance to the end while Pam provided the actual answers. If this is what your honesty thing is all about, then maybe you should stick to filing reports.
I don't think you're the worst offender hibiki and I think gt would agree. It's just that it happens so much that yours was the straw that broke the camel's back. I know it's a terrible cliche but it gets the point across well. It may be hard to recognize because you're part of it, but it's very apparent to those uninvolved. And none of what's been said is a personal attack on you, just observation from the outside. If there's one person who tells it like it is no matter what the issue, it's guiltytownie.

I mean even if it is intolerable, they still at least have the ability to kick people in pregame, or just have a lobby mod take care of it. There's really no need for it to be a community violation.
That being said, I'd rather sit in a 12p closed roles game with 11 people spamming than sit in an A&D variant with Pranay or itg as a clear.
