I can't stand Aquaria omg. She's so damn rude, like it's ok to be a and throw some shade, but she's so up herself and she doesn't really have much to back up that attitude.

- I was borderline offended that Dusty was in the bottom, especially when The Vixen was safe. The Vixen in general is just a mess and I'm already over her and Aquaria. Aquaria's doing the sinful deed of making me like Miz Cracker by comparison, but overall the feud between them feels one-sided and editing-wise like a poor attempt to ape the historic Alyssa-Coco feud.
- Overall, I'm still satisfied with this episode, but some of the judgement calls (Monique safe, Dusty Bottom, Vixen safe, Mayhem not winning the minichallenge) don't make any amount of sense to me. Interesting bunch of girls too. Almost exclusively <30. Are old drag queens that haven't been on RPDR rare now? I think the season has good potential for drama based solely on upped production values for Untucked as well as some of the queens being raised in barns, but we'll see.
thoughts
- Again, Monique should've been in the top 3. Maybe even won the challenge. I know I'm biased and coming into the first episode with her as my fave based on MTQ but really, that dress was leagues above what Blair wore.
- Speaking of Blair, despite what I just said, I was pleasantly surprised by her and wouldn't mind if she continues to surprise me. I still greatly liked the dress she wore and this challenge in general was a pretty universally good turnout.
- Kalorie and Vanessa were obvious bottoms from the second they started showing the conceiving-designing-finalizing process. I'm shocked no one told Kalorie that her dress was just bad. It fit terribly and was incredibly pedestrian in terms of originality. Yes, for the poor challenge, do a dress made of money. Art major detected. Vanessa I actually liked quite a bit just based on her confessionals though, and if she hadn't completely bombed in that lip sync, I'd be happier with the episode. I get that she was unforgivably nervous and tripping over her own train, but what is Kalorie gonna give us compared to Vanessa? Vanessa just lacked execution, Kalorie lacks vision. But that's me.

eureka is too white to get a villain edit so she gets a "i'm catty because i had a rough childhood edit"
asia's wig made me break out into hives i cannot imagine anyone wanting to wear That. it haunted me through the entire video kdfjng. but realistically none of the looks stood out to me except for monet's.
i want to stan e*reka but i feel like that would bring bad energies into my house. i feel like i'll end up rooting for monique throughout the season because she took me there. her or mayhem OR miz cracker because i need to have at least one boring fave.

1. acid betty is like.... she probably give no good confessionals so she would receive less villain editing. but instead she does literally nothing else but act catty. i can't wait for the lip sync to "straight up" between her and thorgy in top 6.
2. i felt super bad for laila, but good god did dax deserve to stay. she may have had a super awful attitude, but her lip syncing deserved a stay. certainly more tepid performances ("bad romance", "geronimo") have resulted in only one going home

i do think there's a lot of editing mishaps because no one came for coco when s5 aired, meaning that either everyone did try to read coco for it but they didn't show it or they didn't bc coco was able to bring it in her looks
that and coco's janet wasn't her first look
Derrick barry seems so annoying and will be nothing like Chad Michaels. At least chad could pull off different looks.

i feel in the minority now since i didn't LOVE LOVE acid before the first ep when most people did and now that the ep's aired i'm pretty here for her. she can be catty but i've liked catty queens before (phi phi and roxxxy)

i somehow dislike robbie turner even more than when i watched her flat mtq and disliked her look
chi chi stole my heart
kim chi had some awful cut aways but her soccer mom read made me laugh pretty hard
naysha really knows how to work cameras for someone who can't sew
laila's lip sync was great
bob had probably the best lines and i'll defend her to the death
overall this batch of queens is great even though it has some stinkers like robbie and derrick and i already love this season more than 7 just based on the initial challenge and queens

Kim Chi is so adorable
Bob was amazing and my favorite. I loved Leila's lip sync. BUT THE BEST PART: seeing all the past winners like sharon and violet <3 mmmmmmmm
