It actually is really easy to get into the US. I am not talking about the long process as much as how easy it is to pass background checks and stuff. Also, how are any of the refugees getting into the US so quickly if it takes so long? Clearly they're either not doing it right (whether they're doing it wrong or the government is, or both)
Specify what you mean by the Constitution protecting slavery and stuff. You're probably right in a sense but I want to know what exactly you're thinking. I know it's not necessarily 100% accurate, but you know that one website for "Which party/candidate do your views line up with the most?" kinda thing? I apparently lined up with the Constitutional views than the Republican party.
Also, yes. I understand what kind of guns were used back then versus now. I can comprehend that time and technology changes. However, the goal of the guns was to protect the people when the government gets too big and tries to wrongly do things. This does not mean you take up arms when there's a law you don't like. If you think about it, messing with one of the first amendments is a huge, huge thing. It's not a small government action. This country was founded on such freedoms. Guns are more powerful now, yes, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't be allowed to have them, in my opinion. If the government takes guns away, they can basically do whatever the heck they want. Not because they took away guns, but because they were able to. Sets a dangerous precedent for the government and its capabilities.
