The Lions are one of the teams that have been cursed by Vince Lombardi. All the franchises that were good shortly before Lombardi became head coach have all been cursed to never win the trophy named in his honour.
The two most dominant teams during the time period were the Browns and Lions, both have been famously bad since then. The Eagles, being the only other team to win multiple titles during the 12 years leading up Lombardi and the Packers, has had tons of regular season success, but has never won the Lombardi.
The curse on the Rams was lifted when the franchise moved from LA to St Louis. It's possible the curse on the Cardinals was also lifted, as they ended a 51-year play-off win drought shortly after becoming the Arizona Cardinals.
Then we have the New York Giants, who many argue breaks the Lombardi Curse theory. However Vince Lombardi was the offensive coordinator of the Giants, and so obviously didn't curse his own team.
Finally we have the Baltimore Colts, the only other team that won an NFL championship during the time period. There are two ways to look at them: First you could argue that given they had only two winning seasons and one playoff birth (the year they won the Championship) during the time period meaning you could argue they weren't successful enough to be cursed by Lombardi. The other way too look at it is argue that their loss in Super Bowl 3 to the jets, despite being 18 point favourites, was enough to break the curse.
Lombardi's curse on the Browns, Lions and Eagles continues, and so long as they are cursed by Lombardi, they will never be able to win his trophy.
I once was enthralled in my phone all while my tv plays phootball and it took me 10 minutes of frustrating zone out noises till i realized i needed to turn my tv off or smash it into the ground so i wouldnt die of annoyance.
Do Pats have the strength of schedule tie breaker? I mean both are 10-2 right now and currently the Bengals have the tie breaker.
I also think it's tough to argue that the Bengals will lose to the steelers given: a) Bengals beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh earlier this year. b) Bengals are the healthiest team in the league.
Bengals and Patriots are gonna be 1 and 2 seeds in the AFC this year.
And either the Bengals, Patriots or Chiefs will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Cardinals, Seahawks or Panthers will represent the NFC.
Or the Cleveland Browns. But yeah, my team is awful, they are the worst. GO LIONS!
Actually, you're wrong unless your football team is the New England Patriots (but only if Brady is on the roster and Belichick is a coach on the team).

If, for any reason, you take a step back during a bad season and think to yourself "God my football team is awful. They are the worst.", you are wrong unless your football team is the Detroit Lions.
Broncos are gonna lose to the Bengals and Steelers and the Bengals will either lose to the Steelers or finish 14-2 alongside the Pats and the Pats will win the strength-of-schedule tiebreaker.
