That's also the last thing I'm going to say about religion in this thread, FYI, so please save related replies for private messages as I won't answer them here to avoid a debate.

Also, the God depicted in every popular religion is petty, cruel, egotistical and bigoted in some way - but I believe that's because men came up with God and they were petty, cruel, egotistical bigots. I think the world would be better off without religion.

There's a problem here, i don't really know about other religions, maybe a little about Islam, but i can assure you that the real and true message of Christianity is not at all how you depicted it. The world won't be a better place without religion, there is nothing wrong with religion. There is however with the people who misinterpret it. But i don't really want to participate in debates about religion since they never lead to anything, it's just a waste of time in my opinion.

Christians generally believe in The Bible as being God's word and the truth. The Bible has a lot of very messed up stuff in it. Saying that being gay is an abomination, treating women as being beneath men and as property, saying that slavery is okay, that people who do or don't do certain things should be put to death, etc. If you don't believe in those things, IMO you aren't Christian, you're a Cafeteria Christian - aka Agnostic.

At what age did you realise you'd be a gay screenwriter with pink hair?

Gay: I knew for sure when I was 7 because I learned what the word gay meant.
Screenwriter: I was writing plays when I was about 12. Movies when I was 14.
Pink hair: I've colored my hair different colors since I was about 16, finally settling on pink as my main color at age 20. I'm 30 now.

do you have aesthetic preferences on men?

I'm typically drawn to white guys with a caveman/monkey look to them. Examples being Dominic Monaghan, David Boreanaz, Shawn Ashmore, Chris Pratt, and stars Trenton Ducati and Dylan Reece. I am very attracted to genuinely kind guys.

People have trouble accepting my sexuality, I am gay, but I feel I have to pretend for my parents. I've tried telling them, but it seemed as if they tried to convince me otherwise. I'm 18 now, and I feel like if I tell them, there is the chance that I won't have a home. I'm just lost when it comes to where I go from here.

Advice?

It's hard to say without knowing the reality of your sitauation. A lot of gay teens FEEL like they would be kicked out, but that is very often just in their heads. You told them before, and they didn't kick you out, right? They just had a hard time accepting that it was who you were, because they had their own visions of what your future would be. I'd say bring it up again and don't back down this time, and tell them that this is your truth. Maybe have a friend or family member that supports you there when you do it. Let them know that the person you are isn't changing...you'll just be happier because you're being yourself. Come from a place of love and not anger, and I think they will most likely support you. If they were going to kick you out, I'm pretty sure they would have done it by now. I'm sure they "know", they're just living in a bit of denial. You can do it. Remember that after you do it, you're going to feel SO much weight lifted off of your shoulders.

And I'm talking about the dudes making out, if I were gay I'd still know it's distasteful. Is it to say "look at me, idc"?

The gif on my wall of two men kissing is from the family show The New Normal, as a protest against other depictions of gay people being ruled "inappropriate". Also, if you think that picture is distasteful, I feel sorry for you because I think love is beautiful and I like to see couples kissing sweetly like that.

What's your stance on the existence of God?

I don't believe in God. Logically and scientifically, it doesn't make sense to me. Also, the God depicted in every popular religion is petty, cruel, egotistical and bigoted in some way - but I believe that's because men came up with God and they were petty, cruel, egotistical bigots. I think the world would be better off without religion. That said, I respect everyone's right to practice their religion as long as they aren't hurting anyone or affecting other people's lives in a negative way. I think religion should have no role in our government though (no swearing on the bible, no "In God We Trust", no "One nation, under God", no laws based on religious beliefs, no more tax exemptions for churches, etc).

I'm pretty sure nobody oppressed or discriminated against you for being gay. You were hated for being highly annoying, including the unecessary report happy phase. I was around for that. There are plenty of people here who are openly gay and haven't been oppressed because of their sexuality. You can't be annoying and then brush it off as "they hate me cause I'm gay". I'm sorry you went through some stuff growing up, but shove it all in our faces.

Was there a question in there? No? K.
