I think unranked games should all be in sandbox to make main lobby ranked games exclusively. They're taking so much space and they're useless I mean if you wanna play unranked go ahead have fun in sandbox but don't crowd the main lobby.

Another idea is to make a beginner lobby and a pro lobby.

At the moment there are 6 unranked games, 5 red heart games, and 1 gold heart game going on right now. There is no "crowd".

This is actually a really decent representative sample of what everyone's interested in playing on this site. In fact, I think that assuming 10% of the total unique users here who truly trophy run at least once a month is really generous.

no i don't mean custom lobbies i mean the MAIN competitive lobby and the whole point of my suggestion was to LIMIT the amount of FP/cocos being played (these setups would NOT go towards the 25 game requirement) and INCREASE the amount of serious, competitive style setups being played where you don't just NL and follow the cop

The only thing about that is that there's always going to be a few setups that are going to be played by people (who make up the vast majority of the total number of users on this site) no matter what. Fancy Pants is relatively new and was created as an alternative to Classic Mafia to get people to stop flooding the lobbies with that. Meanwhile, making it even tougher for the minority of the users to actually play competitively would probably hinder fresh faces from taking it upon themselves to join the competition more so than it would encourage them.

I don't know, If this site ever gets active enough for the main lobby to be "crowded" then you can do whatever you want

I don't think people playing fancy pants are doing it to join the competition

hey if we're all just gonna dump our suggestions in here i've got 1: instead of having a 1.5k requirement for comp it should be 5 plays of 5 different ranked setups (not including FP/cocos) which would amount to 25 different games. the setups would be the regular comp setups (jan, VDLI, cop/miller variants like BL,BV,B2NS etc) this introduces new players to good setups, actually prepares them for competitive and you'd see a wider variance in main lobby. yes, it would take longer to hit the requirement but would be better in the long run, i think.

giving lobby owners the ability to change the requirements for joining their lobby's competitions is sort of an interesting idea though

Once you reach the req on one account, you should be able to play in the competition on all your alts, I think. And then if you're found to be throwing, these rights can be removed from you and all your alts.

Giving lobby owners the ability to white-list people's alts into the competition could be decent

minigames shouldnt be the first thing to work on right now

i mean some roles are bugged, theres a suicide glitch or something, there is a gun glithc where it doesnt shoot, the site never changed since i began playing in 2013.

so theres stuff to work on with the site but i dont think he's too bothered to change anything which isnt good because i think some things need change.

Agreed.

splitting the lobbies in any form is a stupid idea.

unranked games are the gateway to red heart games. putting them in a different lobby would just not allow people to advance from unranked to red heart (if they feel) , and they will never move on.

much like how it was with training and comp lobby.

Tell that to all the sweet, new, and well-coded minigames we've been blessed with recently that absolutely work 100% as they were intended to without any bugs what-so-ever.

It would be way too difficult to get people to play all of these setups with you unless they were all regularly being played as red hearts, which they aren't

the point req is pretty much just there to ward off gt alts, not train people

Really, an alternative solution would be to add filter options for ranked/unranked games to the already existing options of Open/In Progress/Finished. But how long has this been suggested for now? Two years?

oh and add this payout thing to new setups, or at least a moderator approval. New setups being ranked with a payout of 60-60 (which is very high) makes people create pointfarms that aren't usually blacklisted.
deletedalmost 10 years
I would also blacklist playing ranked games with anon decks cause there are always anon versions of blacklisted setups... or at least blacklist all the anon versions and leave an option to the original one to play anon verion with a deck you choose. If the setup is blacklisted you couldnt play an anon version of it, but lucid isn't here to add this now :'(

Giving the admin an option to halve the score payouts for a list of setups would be interesting

on the list
- fancy pants
- reverse maf
- gallis hunter
- take me to church

continuing to take gallis hunter or a similar setup off the list between rounds so that people can reach 1500 pts ofc

The argument for not wanting to play setups like fancy pants unranked is usually that people don't take unranked setups seriously enough, so maybe this would be a decent compromise?
