The main issue I see is that miller causes confusion, but you can read the entire game for context at least.
Confusion is fine because you just have to make sense of the info that's given to you as someone in the game. Fiddler makes it so you're in the game but don't have access to all the same day information to make any reads, which is pretty awful.

im gonna look at the last 4 games played in the fiddle setup and it will back my notion that the fiddler will always n1 fiddle the best player

9/10 times the fiddler is going to fiddle the best player in the lobby, the 1 time they don't fiddle that person is when they're no fiddling to fake claim fiddled.
The role sucks because you flipping miller doesn't necessarily mean you'll be lynched or even checked by the cop so there's no comparison between the two.
You as miller can still A. Scum hunt, participate in the game, and OUT READS the freaking day.
Fiddler is literally allowing people to ISP in games. It should literally be called the ISPer

Agreed, I can't stand YYC. But there's bugger all consistency when the mods are allowed to randomly pick and choose what is and isn't allowed. It's not a good thing, and it shouldn't be the policy.
The site meta isn't going to be fixed by banning individual setups; and nobody will have the balls to actually implement a strict setup shortlist a la Mafiascum, so the mods shouldn't be intervening when pushed around by vocal forumers in an e-peen contest.
I mean, saying fiddler shouldn't be allowed because it makes communication more difficult is basically the same as saying miller shouldn't be allowed because it makes it more difficult to see what roles died. Confusion and miscommunication is and always will be an element of mafia.

If people want to play a setup, and it's balanced, they should be allowed to. Either you go all out to a set setup shortlist to change the site meta, or you allow people to play what they want.
Anything in between is just arbitrary decisions where mods wave their e-peens around, the worst of both worlds.
The idea that setups which feature slight alterations to the ability of players to communicate with each other shouldn't be allowed is completely arbitrary anyways.
whispers are not standard communication. standard communication is day-chat and arguably night-chat. whispers are an Extra Feature and non-standard in standard mafia play on any site
