As for treatment of sexual preferences (including pedophilia): "treating homosexuality" was something that was tried for decades with zero success. I don't believe there are treatments for sexual preference. It's biological.

A lot of the original LGBT rights groups back in the 70s were coalitions of groups which would include those who wanted "pedophile rights" and argued for the age of consent to be lowered to 11 and such things. Caused a bit of controversy in the UK when it got back in the news last year.
