I was not making any points defending yakuzas competitiveness, that is correct. The point I'm making is that EM competitions are not supposed to be "competitive" to the point where yakuza would be "harmful" to the competition.

Was fairly popular and served it's purpose. People had tons of fun there. Sucks that DLYV dominated it so much that other setups didn't get played, but that's because with the roles available there weren't many other setups, and those would be played in silver and training. Over time people would have gotten bored anyway and started making new setups. It also doesn't really matter now because all roles are available here and yakuza is not causing any setups to not get played any more than the popular setups nowadays

Why did you ban me from criticising the moderators team? I just skimmed through the rule page, it's not a rule
might've had something to do with mainman lucidrains forum banning you.

>privatized. I meant prioritized.
deleteddeletedover 11 years agoedited
I might have said that. I've always privatized friends over silly mafia sites. But it wouldn't have been while I was admin or probably even a mod.

If true it looks like Vancy was just a nepotistic guy that sucked

Direct quote "This skype chat is a safe zone, and I would never report my friends for anything that happened here"
Sure sounds like "It's okay to cheat guys" to me.

He also definitely was aware of users in that skype chat ban evading and did not care. He also lied about knowing about Jericho's cheating.

I mean vancyon never explicitly said "you should cheat" but he did tell me that his skype was a safe zone and as a result he would not report me for anything that happened there
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
Quite frankly I have no idea what you're talking about. Are you sure I wasn't just joking? I'd never encourage cheating, and in a group chat of all places?

steven makes good points against things that aren't yakuza but doesn't actually make any good points for yakuza.

win condition changing mid-game is bad for competitive games because in order to account for every plausible outcome of night actions, you must consider the scenario where your win condition changes, while still having the original win condition. this leads to times where playing to your [role's] win condition isn't playing to your [personal] win condition
Irrelevant in must act setups, which this is.

I was not making any points defending yakuzas competitiveness, that is correct. The point I'm making is that EM competitions are not supposed to be "competitive" to the point where yakuza would be "harmful" to the competition. EM competitions are more about having fun in an environment where everyone tries their hardest, and not of everyone having an impossible "perfect" competition. I'm saying it would be hypocritical to ban yakuza before night start, and even more so that setup which is the epitome of "harmless" yakuza. Going the route of banning those "random" factors will make competitions even more unpopular. Red hearts are the new "thing" now and you're not going to bring back the popularity of gold hearts back by making them even more static

But I mean you strongly implied that I was allowed to and should cheat in your group chat during the final few days of my first silver run. That definitely happened, and is not at all conjecture or assumption. That I am sure about.

It's actually not a lie. I remember a banned user asking you if you'd ban their alt if you joined and you said "No, this group chat is a safe zone". You'd also try to message me during mafia games, and frankly I have my suspicions about your honesty as a player as a result
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
You want to criticize my adminship? Fine. There's enough stuff I screwed up out there that you don't need to go making sh!t up.
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
That's a lie.
