I think it's hard to argue that Jordan Belfort was ruined by his own rapacity when he is a real life dude who is living better than anyone arguing that he got what was coming to him

Hitler didn't win. Hitler died a broken and defeated man. Jordan Belfort though? Things worked out okay for him

i saw you make that swtor thread and i was like "huh, sonseray likes bad things", and i didn't really think twice about it, so i guess i could plausibly see you as someone who has bad opinions. it's too believable.

The Wolf of Wall Street was a cautionary tale about a guy who makes millions of dollars, pees on everyone else from the top, and serves 22 months of a 4 year sentence at the end only to come out of prison still on top and with a movie being made about him and agents begging for interviews

guys, i've been thinking about a lot of things, and i've decided that Hitler did nothing wrong

I still troll SWTOR by saying that it's a great game but it can never be as good as WoW because WoW was the first mmo ever made. It ruins the chat for hours.

That being said, the actual person Jordan Belfort was a bad guy who won

i don't have any irl friends, and i need epic mafia to date girls

i'm sure everyone loves talking to you at parties.

i remember when i was 14 and used to troll trade channel in world of warcraft by saying things such as "f*ck china, never forget pearl harbor"

that memory came back to me because of sonseray repeatedly posting this thing that he doesn't actually believe

The real actual Jordan Belfort was a horrible person, and he also won. He won.

I'm not trolling. I don't care that DiCaprio thinks the film is a fable. Jordan Belfort was a bad guy, and he won.

The Wolf of Wall Street is marketed as a cautionary tale to people like you guys, but in reality the dude got away with everything. I don't remember/know anything about his daughter but Jordan Belfort is still living the life. In fact the movie doesn't even show how over-indulgent he was:

yeah i was surprised at how many people were so offended by wolf of wall street's "message" after seeing it.
deletedover 9 years
im glad we're having this talk about a viewpoint that no one posting itt actually holds, though

his daughter, you moron, his daughter.

people who think wolf of wall street is pro-indulgency and pro-capitalism are the equivalent of people that think all quiet on the western front was pro-war

He's my role model

How are you going to argue that Jordan Belfort got his just desserts when he is a real guy who clearly didn't. He served 22 months of a 4 year sentence in a cushy white collar prison because he ratted everyone else out, and he's still loaded.

this also applies to inglourious basterds

The only thing I didn't love about wolf of wall street was knowing how many people were gonna misinterpret it

it's a good litmus test for douches though

I interpreted The Wolf of Walstreet as a story about a dude who steps all over everybody and gets away with it, just like how it happened in real life.

Jordan Belfort: I'm not ashamed to admit it: my first time in prison, I was terrified. For a moment, I had forgotten I lived in a world where everything was for sale.
