Hi, hello, it's me again. How's your moving-not-moving work thing going?
looking for a job is kind of a pain, especially when you're looking out of state and don't really have much of a network there. I'm sure I'd be able to move within NY fairly easily at this point, but I'm not sure if that's the best idea right now.

Oh cool okay, that makes sense. Can you just be my life coach?
pay me salary and match my contributions for 401K and I'm there. I definitely want to get into coaching when I am older.
Can you rough up the total for this?

hi, hello. how can i be of service?

tough to say because everyone has different tastes. "In My Life" by the Beatles has a message that can resonate with any person. Typically though I like to introduce people to soul music, since it's my favorite genre. Check out Charles Bradley.
If they liked your resume they may also just want to put you into a low-risk position for precautionary reasons. It's not that hard to move up in a retail space between different hourly roles.
What do you mean precautionary reasons?
certain positions are higher risk to them because it costs more to on board them.
For example, stock associate is probably the lowest paying and easiest to find job they have there, so they'd rather bring you in for that one to feel you out a bit before committing you to a more intensive role like what you're applying to do. This way, if they don't like you or you decide it sucks and you want to quit, it's not as big of a loss for them. If you do well, then they could bring you onto do that if they think the relationship is good.
Think of it like an old baseball player who comes back after an injury and is given a minor league contract because the team doesn't know if he still has the oomph to perform. It's a low-risk investment for them, and if it works out, they'll bump him up to the main squad accordingly.
It gives you the opportunity to prove yourself and safeguards them in case you suck or don't like it.

petsmart called me the other day and left a message telling me my resume was great and i would be a great addition. should i call them back and tell them i'm interested
edit: it also wasn't for the job i applied for tho. i wanted to work with the animals but they wanted me for morning stocker. so do you think i should tell them my intentions and see if they could eventually get me to that job or should i look elsewhere
I'd call and ask about the other position and say that that's what you're looking to do. If you're unemployed currently then go for it, you'll have the opportunity to shine most likely. If you're employed and doing something better, don't leave unless you're getting the exact spot you want. But if you're not working, you really don't have much to lose.
my first job I was hired as a cashier and in 4 months I was a trainer and knew every section of the store. Getting in can be more important rather than what you're doing to start.
dano help me get a job nobody i know has heard back yet and this place that gave me a pre-interview said they won't be calling for real interviews until the end of march
my patience is low
hiring is a pain in the butt and takes a long time since they need to get budgets approved and hiring new people tends to be the lowest priority for most people, because it means their regular work gets backed up to take care of it.
Just keep looking, ask people you know if they know anyone who may be able to help you do x. at the very least it's an opportunity to network.
