If you're quite a rude person, you tend to be bad at working with a team and you're problably a person who can handle criticism well, which is why rude people shouldnt be mods (generally)
i think the bigger problem with people perceived as rude is that the other mods may feel uncomfortable working with them, which could throw off good chemistry on a team.
id honestly ban as many people i could before i get demodded

important mod qualities:
- understands rules - is diligent - can express themself well - has been on the site for a decent amount of time - isn't usually wrong about stuff - uhhh i dunno wouldn't account share with people - mod me please i am your friend
Staff in literally anything is required to not be openly rude. If you think people that can't stop being aggressive should be modded you're wrong. If you think said people wouldn't be aggressive as mods then that's a possibility but why risk it
Because risk > reward when the alternative is putting dumb people with little to no knowledge of the rules in a position of power just because they're nice
i don't mind mods being rude when they're speaking for themselves. i only mind it when they're speaking for the mod team, i.e. genneh being passive aggressive about bell having a report in IP for 2 days at the end of last round

it's not fair to say slow sucked when you haven't worked with him IMO. he blew through reports when he needed to and also did the majority of cheating investigations
being nice is definitely a good quality to have since it makes it less likely that someone else on the team will have a problem with you, and also more likely that people will be willing to ask you a question or file a harassment report that otherwise wouldn't be, because they feel more comfortable with you.
It's definitely not the only factor to consider of course. You can be nice and not know the rules, but it's totally a benefit.

god forbid mods have work and personal lives that prevents them from doing every single report at every possible opportunity. the problem with pereking doing literally every report is that it left nothing for mods to do and he also stomped around mod chat like he owned the place. it's bad work ethic. it made modding not fun.
stupid argument, you could just leave the mod team if you felt like you werent doing anything at all insted of forcing someone who was literally more effective than the rest of you in that team to do a worse job for the sake of people feeling like they are usefull
honestly, i didn't read this post because i realized that edark is trying to tell me how to mod.
if I can tell you how a team actually should work then guess what pal, you're pretty damn bad at it
i mean if you want to continue trying to tell me how to mod, feel free, i just don't really care.
