I am writing about the prevalence of cheating, specifically multi-accounting in comp games. I'm pretty sure it's higher than ever, and honestly it is too time-consuming to research and draft reports on these idiots. They are getting clever by using fake personas and weird as f** language (obviously distinct from any other player at the table). It's funny when they accidentally break character (i.e. in 3way their lines suddenly become legible; overnight they turn into experienced players with magical towntell). It also makes the game REALLY depressing if you wind up mafia with the cheater's thrower account.
If you're playing competitively, lookout for accounts that just surpassed 1500 points and have weak win rates, and numerous suicides. Don't bother with a shady looking table, and just play with quality people because there are loads out there!
didn't kylehlp and runwithfire cheat? what ended up being the ruling on that one arcbell

not trying to put your statement into question or anything, but what are some examples? I always assumed vets were trustworthy.
Also, not including pranay. I heard about him

only play with users that you feel you can really trust, like atikur and drjackshephard

it's really silly to imply that there's one set demographic that cheats when we've time and time again had people who would otherwise go unsuspected be caught cheating (anthony, drysc)

Unfortunately, sometimes players you really respect and think are legit turn out to be filthy lying cheaters
I understand why you feel that way. But I standby what I said, except I wouldn't 'accuse' anyone of having a psychological problem -- that's a bit hostile
As far as any negative psychology from EM in general, I think it can cause people to be more manipulative, and even worse: to be pathological liars (*cough*pranay)
multi-account cheating is probably fairly rare, actually. certainly not the most prevalent type, i'd imagine
The problem is it's becoming MORE prevalent when, before, it was non-existent. I think having such a large, consolidated main lobby has made it easier to conceal. These cheaters would be eaten alive in the old, competitive lobby since only one or two games would play at a time. And that lobby had mostly high skilled players who would easily sift through any bull****.
i personally wonder if a game in which one must lie to get ahead is not particularly conducive to cheating. perhaps the cheaters cheat in compensation for their shortcomings and that they actually feel justified in doing so, as if it's just a part of the game
