Less than 10% of the land in the UK is urbanized. I agree that greenfield building is a problem in rural communities, like in Wales. But it's the only feasible way out of the housing crisis that much of England has. The controls on it should be decentralized, and certain areas need greenfield building.
I would agree with the latter should Labour be appointed. I guess not being surrounded by these dense communities, of which you have discussed, makes me somewhat ignorant of these problems. Regardless, there are substantial funding urgencies to be considered of which, I believe, you have not entirely addressed. Especially if you consider that most of the new plots will be granted as council occupancy, how will this coincide with the rise in council tax of debt-stricken local councils?
