How does one become a mod

deletedalmost 11 years

Just curious

almost 11 years

Sims says

he only started to be ganged up on because he supported arcbell

deletedalmost 11 years
That's still stupid

I think we should all at least give him a chance because I apologized to him for being rude, since I knew I was rude to him a few times, and turns out hes a decent guy

he only started to be ganged up on recently and ghat was because he made really dumb posts and also supported arcbell
deletedalmost 11 years

Arcbell says

Obama says

We all decided to gang up on him years ago when he hadn't done a single thing and it's just stuck by since then, it has nothing to do with the fact that he's perpetually bitter

So in your theory of things being ganged up on for years does not have anything to do with being perpetually bitter? Curious.

It just shows that whoever started it was doing it just to be a total ***hole

Well also ediz you were a mod before, which (probably) helped this time around and also backs up what you just said about not hiring someone you've never seen before. I know I saw Bronto say this once, a lot of the times an old mod is remodded instead of any new fresh mods because they've done it before and can be trusted to immediately know what they're doing.

I have no idea who Obama/Rutab is referring to.

Anyway, you'd hire someone you trust rather than someone you've never heard of/seen, Rutab. That's just normal

your application can tell the mods that you have the motivation and skills to be a mod. so go ahead and send an app to show you're available.

but there's another thing that mods look for, something like "maturity", that the mods judge when modding. mods usually end up modding friends because they just know them better.
you can't really express this through an application, perhaps an interview or something would be better. you can also have people vouch for you in a way that doesn't come off as obnoxious.

Mootab says

I am not a mod

Also he really isnt

More people are douches to him than he is a douche to them

Ok well he would still be not that bad of a mod

but in the end, usually it does come down to who knows who

No one in the mod team except you knew me, and I applied after you left. Jackhammer was the only one knowing me but he didn't really know me as much as you did. It's mainly how you approach to public and stuff like that

"usually"

mod applications are just good outliers to understand someone's personality, they are never the selling point so be genuine about why you want to get in. don't waste time fluffing up your sentences and writing a ton of meaningless paragraphs

Haha ok dude

Obama here is providing a fine example of how not to post if your intention is becoming a mod.

I'm providing an example of what the mods should be allowed to post, but aren't, because the (and ex-) Admins are nannies

apply and show that you have a decent understanding of the rules, can get along with others, would be able to handle the community complaints, and overall could be levelheaded etc.

then it just boils down to what your background is and even if most mods don't want to admit it there is also how the community would react to your modding
