I tried to change really fundamental things about the community and *mostly* failed. They didn't. Apples and oranges. I obviously wasn't better at keeping stability than bronto or Vancy, but that's not what I was going for anyhow. I wasn't around for most of bronto (I was bitter and mostly avoided the site) and I from what I saw of Vancy he was really good (naysayers are wrong). Sorry that's all you're getting on this. It's a really open ended, not to mention loaded, question.
First, I'll take this opportunity to apologize for that little *thing* that happened between us when I was admin. I read way too much into that and let it form too much of my opinion about you at the time.
You're pretty great. You're calm and logical. You aren't stubborn at all. When you are arguing about something it's always a real conversation where you listen to the other side without a predetermined agenda. You avoid putting people down even when you'd like nothing better than to rip them apart.
In addition to how well you conduct a discussion, I think you're pretty smart; I find myself agreeing with you quite often.
That's fair Arc, I was pretty harsh on your adminship based on personal things, and that was when i just started out on the forums too. Certainly much different now
You seem exited to be here in this community. To me you are new (I don't know if you've been on the forums or in games at other times but I've only noticed you in the last month) and you have a positive energy even when things are looking dark (this applies exclusively to forums, I really haven't played enough games with you). It's not over-the-top-lets-all-be-friends type of positive, but you manage to participate in the drama without making it worse, which is nice. I look forward to getting to know you better if you stick around.
I don't think I ever really disliked you. You seem very easy to get along with. I feel that you're not an extreme personality like most of the people who post on the forums. The comments you make are never really polarizing in any way. They just sort of ~are~
You're a Chill Dude, and if more people here were like you the forums would be a much more peaceful place (though perhaps less dynamic).
I used to really not like you because you said really pointlessly nasty things and turned discussions personal when they didn't need to be. Seemed almost like a malicious edge, and it wasn't very sharp.
Now you seem fine. The reasons I didn't like you before haven't shown up in quite some time. Your opinions seem less extreme and a lot less wrong than what I remember.
We lost contact after I stepped down as mod, and we left on poor terms. You haven't been around the forums much to my knowledge. You're pretty young, so I imagine you change frequently... this makes me not want to say half-year-old stuff I didn't like about you in-case it's no longer true.
Despite everything I have a lot of respect for you for staying on as mod as long as you have. You've never rage-quit despite being a huge target for criticism over the months. You've literally been a mod for around the same amount of time I've been on the site. Historically I've found your judgement to be simplistic, but again, age. I haven't really seen any "oh gods Ucklar is doing reports wrong again" things recently, so this suggests to me I might like who you are now a lot more than who you were.
