i've been doing really bad as scum lately, not sure how to overcome that.
this round especially, with these setups, i've become an easy scumread and im confused as to how i can fake towntells in a way that doesn't seem.... fake.
As I saw it explained once, playing scum is simple: Just make the cases you'd make as town, because you'll often be wrong as town too.
Of course, it's not actually that simple, it takes adapting a mindset and getting yourself into a rhythm, if you're off in any way you'll usually find yourself at a loss for words and at that point you're going to get lynched
But the basic idea is sound and it's enough to get you through plenty of games as scum - just adopt a mindset like you're town, play like that, and fos people who you'd fos as town. That's more effective than faking any sort of tell is.

if you become evil man then surender i will come fin d you adn slice you with my smaurai wsword.
conversely you could also activelyt ry to scumtell by lurking, only talking when addressed, voting easy reads. being intentionally scummy can work to your advantage since many players will disregard people if they are too scummy and perceived as bad towns. looking bad can nab you a win.
anyway that'll be $23

mafia is inherently a role where you have to actively do something. in this case it's towntell and get town to lynch wrong. as town, you can be far more passive and make easier towntells unintentionally that way. town has to lynch right, but the way most setups are oriented usually has at least one aggressive town role at the beginning, if not for most of the game. if you are trying to look blue, don't try.
if you try to win a CC battle, just towntell, champ.
imo the most important aspect of being mafia is the ability to fabricate believable reads. being able to act naturally is important, but i feel like that's something that comes over time. be able to recognize when the town scumtells, it'll help you come up with believable reads as mafia
