Drawing over Auto Loss for Town

deletedabout 10 years

In a situation where you are a member of the town forced into a meteor due to scum NKing and it is mylo, is it acceptable to force NL and draw the game over taking autoloss due to conflicting votes?

I feel this needs more public opinion and elaboration because I had a hard time deciding whether I felt this instance here was GT or not.

https://epicmafia.com/report/110662 - sneak https://epicmafia.com/report/110795 - shifter

I initially felt it was a note given the circumstances put under them, as sneak (in this case) was forced to either vote her town-read or NL due to Kart being insistent on her vote, but had dissenting opinions from another mod (and Kart herself) that the intent was clearly there in sneak's case to just draw it over taking a loss. You can read my comments in the report section as to what I was thinking at the time.

Edit: Please read the game and reports before posting.

the obvious answer is: it's situational

agreed. you can't really set a precedent on this type of thing.

why should it be a gamethrowing violation for someone who was given no choice but to lose

lol

It's not GT'ing for shifter. It's GT'ing for sneak who chose to NL. shifter had no choice it was autoloss fhpov. He did nothing wrong.

Stifler had the choice of voting sneak or the guy who voted him - he decided to with sneak force nl. He game threw because he could not with 100% certainty say outside of just fos'ing someone (Which can be wrong) that they were town - he could have voted one of the two prior mentioned people and given cyber who COULD HAVE BEEN town the hammer to hammer either him or the person of his choice..

Right now the only defence you guys have is that he HAD AN FOS that fos was not being voted so as a result he forced nl - so I ask you guys what if Sneak or the reporter was mafia? Is that then a violation??

forcing nl on meteor is gamethrowing. if two people voted a player and the other two voted nl, the two who voted nl get gamethrowing.

If you're town or mafia getting lynched it is not a game throw.

yeah but that would mean a town who isn't being lynched voted nl and that townie is the one who threw

ok then that townie doesn't get gt then

there's a difference between nking as maf n1 on classic and nling on meteor. nking as maf doesn't put your team into autoloss

I wasn't talking about NL'ing on meteor. We already established this is GT'ing.

I'm talking about forcing meteor on 2vs2 vote split as in the situation I outlined earlier.

No one cares about OP anymore. That's been handled.

so that would mean the town that votes last to force the nl

Who is at fault if both cyber and Kart vote shifter, while shifter and sneak both vote cyber.

Which towny is at fault for forcing meteor by refusing to switch his vote? Kart or sneak?

Lizor says

nobody since they're not nling, they're voting who they think is maf which is perfectly acceptable. altho the mods might vio a town if that town is the last to vote causing the forced nl

I know voting = taking action. But if votes are tied then meteor will be forced regardless.

Who gets the vio?

Not reading the game.

Gamethrowing is gamethrowing if the intent was to gamethrow.

Forcing meteor knowingly when not faced with autoloss is also considered GT.

If the vote was split and both thought they were voting mafia, and simply neither budged, it is not game throwing as their intention till the end was to get said person lynched, and the NL was a result of lack of persuasion rather than what either player decided.

If the person votes to force the NK with the intention of forcing the NK, such as when the votes are set on his townread and he votes to draw instead of taking the chance that he's wrong, then that person is gamethrowing because no chance

edit: actually, probably the person who voted second

Recently Dez ruled that the person who votes second in Mafia meeting, effectively forcing a NK on n1 will not automatically receive a GT violation.

So by this logic, neither can the person who votes second in a meteor situation if they are indeed lynching to win.

nking n1 isn't inherently gamethrowing, it's just bad play. forcing a draw is inherently gamethrowing.

The situation is forcing a NK because you don't agree with who your partner chose first, therefor you choose someone else effectively forcing a NK.

Both.

How are both at fault when both are trying to win by voting their FOS? Which one is obligated to switch vote?

this thread is an abomination because no one understands the real dilemma that you didn't even ask about because no one read the game and you didn't show it well enough in your OP

i don't see how saying someone is complaining is a personal attack on them in the first place, but that is an argument meant for another thread. you're free to do what you feel is right, obama.
