If your testicles are chopped off then where are you supposed to produce testosterone
So in theory then, erections would be impossible and humanity would cease to engage in intercourse at all.

Not sounding so great now.

in game of thrones people who become eunuchs have no sex drive whatsoever.
That entirely fictional television show? :)

I'd love to see some scientific research on this though if there is any. If you find some let me know!

Yeah there's a very strong moral case for choosing adoption over procreation but I'll probably ignore it
this is in general discussion 4 a reason please discuss
I don't think the human species should necessarily be phased out but the human population needs to decrease. Hence adoption being good. I'm also a big fan of eugenics and infanticide but you can't say that in public without people jumping down your throat before you get the chance to lay out your arguments. Also I'm too lazy to lay out my arguments. Peter Singer says it all anyway w.r.t. infanticide.

well emmer using deductive reasoning i'm assuming you meant victims of non-consensual intercourse.
Yeah I was.

Interesting. What would be interesting to see is whether sexual offences were reduced with the increase of vasectomies (whether the 'biological urge' to have intercourse would be reduced) - some claim that many offenders of this type 'can't help it' and have diagnosable conditions where the urge (either for intercourse or reproduction) overwhelms the concious mind (and our knowledge of right and wrong).

Have there been any studies/research done in populations where this is a thing? I'd love to see the crime rates as well as other things.

Most of the people posting in this thread should not reproduce
100% of the people in this thread should not reproduce, not because of any particular reason though.

not enough research has been done to say with 100% confidence that mars' resources remain untouched.

i don't believe in aliens however.

it's just a cycle. tap into earth's resources until they're dry, move on to the next planet.

it could snuff out any chance the planet has to evolve, but it could also be a catalyst for evolution on that planet, who knows.

for reasons i dont understand myself + possibly a ~fear~ i wouldn't connect as well
the only way you wouldn't connect as well would be if you didn't let yourself connect as well.

parents who put babies up for adoption usually do it because the babies are unwanted in some way. the very fact that you adopted that baby, means you wanted them.
its just not that simple
actually, in a vacuum, it is that simple. hormones are only a catalyst to paternal bonding

you're not exploiting untapped resources if they are of no use to anyone untouched

How would we be exploiting Mars's resources?

What's wrong with space colonization?

It would de-populate the Earth to a degree, and there are no living species on Mars (that we know of) that the colonists would be harming. Hm???

So the stance is vasectomy and mastectomy upon birth? Or at a given time in life?
basically not reproducing at all, accidental or purposeful
