Howard is a perfectly good name. Its solid, and earthy.

But ewwww, like the feel as you read it is just blegh. I much prefer James and will continue to refer to him as such. I'm sure he won't mind.

I personally like Howard because its not generic. James is kinda tepid. Howard may sound a little dull but it's memorable.
